”The location was great - quiet and out of the way but easily access to local attractions. I did find the room a bit warm on arrival and had to immediately turn off the radiators and open the windows. Also, the bed was a bit too hard and uncomfortable for me but that’s personal taste. The wash basin in the bathroom was cracked and I could have done with a hand rail to get in and out of the bath but that was my own fault for not requesting an accessible room. ”

”Wonderful views and the feeling of being in The Lakes. Good spaces for walking the dog. Rooms are spacious and dog friendly with the inevitable trace of dog hairs on the divan bed. I stayed at this place on my way to Buttermere. It allowed an early start on quiet roads and was cheaper than staying in any of the towns en route. I did not eat in the hotel but the nearby services have hot breakfast rolls and good coffe. ”

”The staff were friendly polite and very helpful, the hotel grounds were lovely and kept to a high standard, the dog day pen again was lovely although the gate floor catch was broken making the top catch difficult to open/close.
