”great little stay, nice Pub/Hotel, locals are friendly and the food in the restaurant was excellent, East Linton was a great little village, with a watermill and Dovecote walk to explore. but be warned it was very hot day when we stayed, so we had the windows open, the village church/clock nearby its bells ring on the hour from 8am to 11pm and the East Coast main railway line is close too, so the trains rattle through till late, it did not bother us we found it a bit of a laugh tbh.”

”My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Marshall Meadows Manor House. We stayed one night, but ate dinner and the included breakfast at the hotel. The room was clean, the food excellent, and the staff genuinely helpful. The manager assisted with luggage, provided us with helpful advice for our destination the following day, and was very attentive while also serving at the restaurant. ”Staff and food were very good but stay was let down by a few niggles. I had booked a table for dinner but there was no record of it when I arrived. I had also asked for a room with a walk in shower but didn't get it. The biscuits on the tea tray were the smallest pieces of shortbread I have seen made worse by having no biscuits at all on my second night. ”Overall a very good value place to stay, and as long as you know the place’s limits in advance you can plan round them.
