The room was clean and a good size but the carpet needed renewing as it was in bad condition.The bed linen and towels were excellent and the twin beds were comfortable. Our room and our friends room were "shabby".Paint work etc. I complained about the fact that the bath water went cold before I had run very much.There was no soap to use in the bath.Only soap available was fixed to the shower wall and by the washbasin.
I was woken up at 5.35am on the morning we were leaving with a text message from the hotel giving a link for the bill to be paid. Following my complaints I was given a small refund. The hotel needs money spending on it to bring it up to a good standard. Our dinner on Thursday night was good - no complaints about the food and the staff were all lovely and couldn't have been more helpful.
Sadly Abbingdon was disappointing as there were quite a few closed shops and the remaining ones were not selling "quality" goods. Too many coffee shops !
