”Stayed in the hotel for one night since my congress hotel nearby was fully booked. A very positive surprise in the English countryside: friendly staff, tidy spacious rooms, good quality food. I will visit again, should my travels take me into this direction.”

”Pleasant room with a good shower, in a nice spot. Decent breakfast, served by a lovely lady. Only downside was a constant whirring sound in our room (No9), which seemed to come from an appliance (sounded like an extractor/ventilator) located between shower room & bedroom.”

We'd been traveling for many days and needed to do some laundry. When I asked if there was a laundry for guests to use, I was informed no. However, she said that she would be willing to help us and she did! When I tried to pay her, she would not accept. Such service is rare and...

”Very pleasant experience. Clean modern room and helpful staff. Cosy restaurant with good drinks. Breakfast is freshly prepared according to your choise, a bit heavy though. Rooms are located in a separate building near a big road so we heard a little bit of noise from the traffic.”

”We had a nice stay at The Swan Inn. We had a family room and while there was enough room, the bathing situation was a little awkward. It was fine for one night, but we have teenagers, so privacy was a bit of an issue. Overall, it is exactly what you would expect. It charming and quiet. ”

”The location was ideal for what we had come to the area for, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the portions of food for both lunch and dinner were far too much for the average person. On the down side, no breakfast. A chewy bar is not my ideal way to start the day and I would have much preferred a feather filled pillow”
