Hotel zelf is prima, heel vriendelijk personeel. De schildpaddentour is verschrikkelijk. Je staat letterlijk met tien toeristen om een schildpad heen die eitjes aan het leggen is. Super zielig en fout.

I was worried about going due to some of the reviews but in general the stay was fine for one night. The tent was clean , the bed was comfortable, shower and AC were good. The WiFi was none existent in the tents . The gentleman in reception in the morning was polite and one nice man in the restaurant also but some of the other staff were just rude which was a real shame . The restaurant buffet dinner and breakfast was great could not fault it . Those that like a drink they did not serve alcohol here which wasn’t an issue. The beach is huge and very quiet which was nice to walk along , there was nothing else to do here. Unfortunately we did not see the turtles as we waited around for an hour and half and gave up but others managed eventually saw some . It was ok for one night but they could make this so much better and encourage visitors to stay longer by improving the facilities in general

Wir hatten ein Family Luxury Tent auf dem etwas entfernt liegenden Berg gebucht. Für unsere Kinder war das ein Erlebnis. Das Bad war ok und sauber für ein Zeltniveau (Außerwände aus Plane). Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt. Es gab auch eine Klimaanlage im Zelt. Als wir ankamen, ging der Kühlschrank nicht und der Safe hatte keine Batterien. Der Kühlschrankdefekt wurde behoben, aber der Mitarbeiter hat sein Versprechen, den Safe am Abend funktionstüchtig zu machen, nicht eingelöst. Wir haben in Summe für zwei Nächte 630 Euro bezahlt und hätten morgens (5:30) und abends (20:30) die Schildkrötenführung als Gäste kostenlos machen können. Wir haben sie an beiden Abenden unseres Aufenthalts gemacht und wir haben auch in der Schildkröten-Nebensaison alles gesehen (Eiablage und zurück ins Meer, Kleine Schildkröten auf dem Weg ins Meer). Für die Kinder klasse. Bei den Schildkrötenführungen kommen viele Touristen und es wird echt voll im Haupthaus, so dass mehrere Gruppen gebildet werden. Unsere Gruppe aus Hotelgästen bestand aus ca. 15 Personen. Das Frühstück war gut. Gesamturteil: Teuer, aber es hat Spaß gemacht.

This hotel is in an excellent location for turtle watching and spending a day in the beach. The free breakfast is average, the dinner seemed to expensive (12 OMR) and we went to Ras Al Hadd instead. The eco tents need some renovation. Everything was run down and the tent material was moldy in most places. Even when we opened all windows, it still smelled. The bathroom was even worse.

Die Touren sind sehr überlaufen und trotz aller Ermahnungen nutzen die Leute Blitz und anderes Licht und sind laut. Baby Schildkröten wurden nur zu touristischen Zwecken vorgeführt. Mit Tierschutz hat das wenig zu tun.

Nice experience!
The staff was friendly and the food was great, both dinner and breakfast. The guided tour to the beach in the evening was good and professional. The room was a bit outdated and is soon in need for renovation.

Abbiamo voluto acquistare nello shop perché il 20% rimane per la protezione dell’oasi Struttura anni 70 non vi dovete aspettare tanto ma è comoda per le osservazioni. Per la cena che costava troppo siamo arrivati nel paese “vicino” 20km quindi pensateci prima

Die Eco Tents sind geräumig und für Zelte gut ausgestattet, jedoch auch schon ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen. Die Sauberkeit kann mit europäischem Standard nicht mithalten, war jedoch akzeptabel. Das Essenangebot für abends beschränkt sich auf ein Buffet, das vielfältig ist, wenn auch mit indischen Touch. Insgesamt war es mit 25€ pro Person auch eher gut bezahlt. In der näheren Umgebung gibt es kein alternatives Restaurant. Insgesamt stimmt das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis in diesem Hotel leider nicht, da insbesondere der Preis für die Übernachtung im Verhältnis zum angebotenen Standard vergleichsweise zu hoch ist. Die Schildkröten Tour war jedoch ein einmaliges Erlebnis und entschädigt für alle etwaigen Unannehmlichkeiten während des sonstigen Aufenthalts.

The reserve is fabulous. This is a great location. The turtle watching was very special. Our guide on the first morning told us all to be quiet and not to use lights from our phones and created a really good ambience for turtle watching. It was lovely to walk together with other guests in silent expectation. Our other guide didn’t lay down the same rules and the group was noisier using phones and lights. Have a consistent standard please! We stayed in one of the Eco-tents that had hot running water and a flushing toilet and the ambience in the camp area is lovely. However, we question how ‘eco’ the tents are in terms of energy use. For example, the fridge was running at full blast whilst it was empty. The air-conditioning unit was very loud and noisy and blasted out air that was very dehydrating. Is there any way that this could be improved? Also if it is possible to avoid plastic water and plastic bottles of shampoo etc.this would help the environment. However, we notice that almost all the water bottles for sale in Oman are plastic bottles so the hotel can only do what it can. The rooms in the tents need refurbishing but probably like all hospitality, Covid has been a real setback to investment in updating things. The restaurant was good, with a variety of choices of food and the staff were very friendly and helpful and kept everything clean. The mocktails were the best we had during our visit to Oman! We had a very memorable stay at the Turtle Reserve and recommend it.

Pleasant stay, amazing staff!
We only had one night at the reserve. The hotel was clean, very friendly and helpful staff. The room was spacious for our family with 2 children. The free activities turtle watching where absolutely unique. Unfortunately there where tourists not paying respect to the turtles by not following all the regulations. Overall we love the commitment of the reserve to protect the turtles.

Lorsque nous sommes arrivés dans cet hôtel, notre réservation faite par Expedia et payée n'existait pas. Nous avons dû repayer une chambre beaucoup plus cher. Expedia ne nous a toujours pas remboursés et l'hôtel ne répond ni à Expedia ni à nous. Une autre personne avait aussi un problème, elle avait loué un bungalow sur la plage mais il n'y a aucun bungalow là-bas et la plage est à 1km donc il y a un problème avec les réservations faites pour cet hôtel...

Die Unterkunft ist ordentlich und die Betten bequem. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut. Am besten ist, dass die Führungen dabei sind (21:00 und 05:00) und dass der Zugang untertags zu den wunderschönen Privatstränden nur für Hotelgäste vorbehalten ist. Es gibt daher aus meiner Sicht keine Alternative zu diesem Hotel, wenn man dorthin fahren will.

Lovely eco tent. We were unsure about this accommodation as we were spoilt by 5 star luxury in Muscat but the tents had all the facilities we needed and was clean/ spacious. We were unsure if we would see any turtles as it was off season but we saw 5 which was incredible. My only concern would be the way the turtle visits are conducted. They say to be quiet and not use your torch/ flash but so many inconsiderate guests ignored this. The guides are very loud-not sure how upsetting this is for the turtles. Our guide also pulled a baby turtle that had only been born an hour before out of his pocket and then shone a light on it for all to see-it was quite distressing for the turtle. I am not an expert but certain things seemed to be quite invasive for the turtles. The food at the site was lovely and the staff were incredibly accommodating. Definitely would stay for a short stay again
