”I should have read more reviews before booking this hotel. I'm not sure when it was rated a four-star property (which I felt we did pay for), but it, and the pictures shown in their brochure, must have been from several years ago. Our room was really worn and there are too many guest rooms for what the hotel has in terms of amenities. ”I paid almost double for a higher floor and got the 2nd floor. At 8am sharp there was construction going on right outside my balcony to repair the restaurant porch. A warning in this would have been nice. The appears to be no drainage and the parking lot sidewalk etc get swamped with the slightest of rain. Just another crappy tourist trap. ”

”Room was the CUTEST! Bathroom was huge. One of the cleanest (like sparkling clean) places we have ever stayed. It is right on the beach with easy, easy beach access. Large beach area for hotel. Wonderful two-story, covered deck area. A two-minute walk to Swells'a brewery :). If we ever have the opportunity to return to the OBX, John Yancey is where we will stay. ”

”Clean, comfortable and affordable room with nice shower! Bri met us with a smile and showed us around the place. We were not able to use the cute fire-pit area or tiki bar due to inclement weather, but I'm sure it's a hit on nice evenings. Coffee and tea are available 24/7 in the main house. Rooms come with a fridge which is great if you go out to eat and have leftovers. Centrally located on the island. ”

”Definitely my favorite place to stay here. The staff is all friendly and caring. They had a water outage when I was here this time, and they were kind enough to move me to one of the cottages they rent out next-door. I've always been happy staying here, and will definitely come back again.”

”This hotel was a nice find, excellent quality for the price. The building is a bit run down outside, but we were there off-season and it seemed there was a lot of maintenance going on. The room was very clean and spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. They even served a breakfast, which was adequate. The location is wonderful, right next to the beach!”
