”A lovely friendly welcome from Michael at reception. All the staff were great. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed. The fan was a definite bonus in the hot weather although the room stayed fairly shaded too. There was some traffic noise but it didn't disrupt my sleep at all (room 16). ”Excellent stay at this hotel (2 nights in July). We were especially grateful for the aircon which is far from standard in UK hotels. Everything was of standard you would expect from a property like this. Staff were impressive and the room spacious, tasteful and clean. Will be back on our next visit to the city.”

”Staff were very friendly and helpful. Free parking but a little tight. Breakfast with a small fee was excellent. Sink and refrigerator were nice. 2 free water bottles. 10-15 minutes from city center. The room in the loft was not good at all. The ceiling on some parts were so short so I hit my head twice. No window. Only one small skylight”

”Your classic inn with worn down rooms and most basic breakfast. Uninterested staff who coukdn’t care less that there were BLOOD STAINS on the rug of our room. Got another room which after confirming two times was not similar than the bloody one we left behind. ”

”The staff were extremely helpful and the facilities were excellent. Charlie and his colleagues helped us out with a number of things and nothing was too much trouble. A greater choice of pillows would be good as we found the ones provided were not comfortable .”

”Staff were lovely and although our room wasn’t ready, we were shown to a room available to change in for our visit to York races. Our room wasn’t ready tired looking. The bins hadn’t been emptied from previous clients and the bedside lamps were full of cobwebs. I reported it to staff who thanked me for doing so. There is no lunch or evening meal provision anymore. Can’t comment on breakfast as we didn’t eat Overall this is a really lovely hotel. Warm and welcoming. The walls are thin but...

”Property was clean enough. No room cleaning at all the 3 nights we stayed not even towel change. The rooms could do with a bit of dressing up with paint and filler but apart from that it was good location and really quiet which is always good after a loud day in town. Parking is good and cheap for York especially Ev charging. Overall good and quite”

”Nice and modern hotel close to the centre and key locations. Only negative aspect was the really loud music playing in the lobby, which makes it quite annoying entrance everytime you return to the hotel. Luckily the sound insulation is top class and you can’t hear the music - or anything else for that matter - in the rooms. ”

”We noticed that the mattress cover was not replaced with the fresh one when we got there. But the staff has helped right away. Everything was good enough for the value.”
