”Wateredge Inn, Ambleside We stayed at the Wateredge Inn in October for one night and really liked it. The location is perfect, right by the water, and the room was lovely with an incredibly comfortable bed. Everything felt nicely done and welcoming. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was very good too. We’d happily stay here again and definitely recommend it to others.”

Very comfortable for 2 adults, not sure how 4 adults would feel as it might be a bit on the small side, especially if you are tall people as the ceilings are low. Parking might be a bit tricky. There is space outside for one car, although the road is narrow at that point. There seems to be space on the next road along though, or as the owner suggests in the nearby pay carpark. ”High Ridge is perfectly situated right in the middle of Ambleside. However, it really does need some TLC. There are damp patches on the walls , the bed linen is rather questionable, & the window blinds are just simply dreadful . They let light in, don’t work properly & are very tatty indeed. The furnishings are of poor quality & there are just far too many dreadful pictures on the walls. The kitchen & bathroom are good but the rest of the property needs a jolly good face lift .
