Our flight was canceled so we booked a night here and absolutely loved it. The owner is a collector of COBRA art (COpenhagen, BRussels, Amsterdam postwar art) and he has filled the hotel walls with prints and paintings from his collection. I absolutely loved the art, so this was a real bonus. And the library and reading rooms were full of great books on different subjects. I had planned to go out on the town, but found myself reading some of the books in the cozy reading room instead, and I didn’t regret it at all.
The room décor was not to my taste (kind of Hollywood glam), but it was extremely comfortable. The mattress and pillows were perfect, not too hard or soft, but just right. The floors had radiated heat which was lovely, especially in the bathroom which included a nice large tub! I can’t speak to the food in the hotel restaurant because we opted for a more casual dinner a few doors down. In retrospect I wish we had dined at the hotel because the food at the pub was underwhelming, especially if you like to eat healthily.
