Very nice hotel and staff! Cats were awesome! Nice location near central station and restaurants. We would choose this hotel again if we travel to Amsterdam second time

Pieni huone mukavassa hotellissa
Hotelli ei sovi huonojalkaiselle, koska kadulta pitkät ja jyrkät portaat vastaanottotilaan (sama porrassysteemi myös muissa viereisissä hotelleissa). Huone minikokoa mutta siisti ja moderni kuin laivan hytti. Henkilökunta ja palvelu erinomainen. Hotellin sijainti hyvä.

Hotelli sijaitsi loistavalla paikalla lähellä Dam-aukiota, kuninkaan linnaa ja vanhaa kirkkoa. Hotelli oli pieni kuten myös huone. Vaikka suihku j awc olivat käytävällä niihin pääsi aina halutessan ja ne olivat ihan huoneen ulkopuolella käytävällä. Ei siis hankala ollenkaan. Portaat olivat armottoman jyrkät, mutta laukun kannossa sai apua. Hotelli oli siisti ja palvelu erittäin ystävällistä. Hotellin henkilökunta puhui hyvää englantia ja apua sai hyvin. Aamupala oli ihan ok, hedelmiä ja tomaattejakin löytyi, mikä ei ole itsestäänselvyys näin pienessä hotellissa. Voisin yöpyä uudestaankin.

rappuset hotelliin olivat tyrmäävän jyrkät ja kapeat,mutta erittäin ystävällinen respa halusi ehdottomasti kantaa laukut mennen tullen!huoneemme oli ylimmässä(3)kerroksessa ilman hissiä,joten ei sovi heikkojalkaisille. siistiin ja pieneen huoneeseen oli saatu mahtumaan kaikki olennainen,jopa pieni jääkaappi ja pesuallas nurkkaan.yhteisvessa ja-suihku käytävällä olivat siistejä.aamiaishuone oli kodikas ja aamupala hyvä.voisin käydä hotellissa myöhemminkin,mutta varaisin isomman huoneen.kaiken kaikkiaan hotellista jäi hyvä fiilis ja extreme-portaistakin oppi nauttimaan!erityiskiitos loistavalle"respa-ukolle",joka teki olomme kotoisaksi!

Hinta-laatu-suhde kohdallaan
Kun tarvitaan paikka, jossa nukkua ja peseytyä eikä hinta saa olla kova, Clemens on täydellinen paikka! Kävelleen pääsee jokapaikkaan ja ratikat kulkee vierestä. Linjat 13 -17 vie Central Stationilta lähelle: pysäkkejä taisi olla neljä ennen Clemensiä. Anne Frankin talon pysäkki sopii hyvin poisjääntiin. Oven löytämisen kanssa pitää olla tarkkana, koska samassa talossa on muitakin majapaikkoja. Clemens - suosittelen!

Henkilökunta erittäin ystävällinen ja auttavainen, miellyttävä vastaanotto. Hotellin sijainti ihanteellinen lyhyelle kaupunkilomalle. Huoneeni oli erittäin meluisa viereisen kadun likenteen vuoksi. Vessa ja suihku olivat siistit. Huone itsessän oli pikkuruinen ja haisi hieman epämiellyttävälle. Kyseessä on vanha rakennus, jota ei liene peruskorjattu ihan äskettäin.

Pieni hotelli lähellä keskustaa,
mutta riittävän kaukana hälystä! Tämä hotelli ei sovi huonojalkaiselle tai runsaan ylipainon omaavalle. Kadulta vievät pitkät, kapeet, jyrkät portaat ensimmäiseen kerrokseen (10 metrin korkeudessa), jossa vastaanotto. Hotellissa on vain yhdeksän huonetta, joista suurin osa on vain vähän parisänkyä suurempi (noin 8m2). Aamiainen oli runsas ja herkullinen. Palvelu oli erinomainen ja ystävällinen. Suosittelen. Kesä aikaan huoneet ovat aika kuumia ja jos pidät ikkunaa auki yöllä, saatat häiriintyä kirkonkelloista, jotka soivat 15 minuutin välein (15, 45 vain lyhyesti, 00, 30 huomattavan pitkään)

What a gem of a place. I was a little sceptical from the street as I imagined it to was going to be outdated and noisey inside but it was anything but. Climbing the (steep) stairs to receiption we received a warm welcome from the staff who were being supervised by one of the resident cats. We checked in and were offered a drink and for our bags to be stored as we were early. Returning later, our bags had already been taken to our room on the top floor for us. The room itself had all the things you need and none of the things you don't need. It was a little compact but that's to be expected in most European city centre locations. The room and bathroom were modern, clean and well maintained. Breakfast was continental style and had a good variety of different dishes to try. There are two balcony areas adjacent the breakfast room with pleasant views watching the world go by. We stayed for 2 nights and would happily return or recommend this to other travellers. The only potential downside would be the steep stairs, two flights are needed to get to the rooms and this may deter some visitors. For everyone else, what are you waiting for? Having stayed in hotels with 3, 4 and 5 stars I have to say that it was the friendliness of the staff which makes the difference here and Clemens Hotel punches above its weight.

73 steps straight up; that's the hard part (if you're on the 3rd floor); but the staff takes care of hauling your luggage up and down so that's great; small rooms but we had 3 in a room and it wasn't too bad; I forget everything in Europe is on a smaller scale than in the US; nice little breakfast; staff went out of their way to make our stay very pleasant; great location for public transportation, lots of restaurants, shopping, sites, close by; just don't go on King's Day, whatever you do, don't go that day

The Clemens is very well located, close to the canals, Anne Frank house, etc. The staff was extremely nice and friendly, leaving treats and finding restaurants for us. It has a nice continental breakfast and a cozy sitting area with balcony. The room was small, but that is usual in Europe. Beds were comfy. Bathroom was really tiny. The 37 very Dutch steps were very steep, so if you have ambulating issues, consider staying somewhere else. The staff was very helpful handling the luggage up and down the stairs. I thought the price was steep… but all hotels in Amsterdam are!!

We had an amazing time at Hotel Clemens! The room was perfect, had a nice view and wonderful amenities. The breakfast was delicious and the staff, including resident kitties, were very kind, helpful and welcoming. Will stay again the next time I visit!

The staff were so exceptionally welcoming, they really made you feel like you were part of the family, they carried our bags up amd down the stairs when we came and when we left and yes there were alot of stairs but that was the only downside, the room was clean and the central location was perfect, would definitely stay there again in a heartbeat.

This hotel is fantastic! The service from the staff is excellent, they are so friendly and helpful. The hotel has a homely feel and there are two resident cats which I loved! Reception is open 24/7 and the staff can store your luggage if you arrive early or leave late, and still want to go out and explore. There are many stairs and no lift, which was not a problem for me, but something to consider if you have mobility issues. My room was small but clean, cosy and fine for just myself. I had a garden view and the room was very quiet. Breakfast was included and there is tea, coffee and snacks available 24/7. The hotel is very safe and secure and is in walking distance of Dam Square, the shops, canal cruises, the central train station and many other points of interest. I recommend this hotel and would stay here again when in Amsterdam.

Hôtel charmant calme et parfaitement situé
En famille pour un séjour de 3 jours nous avons adoré cet hôtel situé idéalement pour relier tous les centres d intérêt du centre historique d Amsterdam. Énormément d escaliers raides à grimper mais ça vaut le coup car tout est douillet et tellement bien décoré dans le style traditionnel et authentique avec des touches de modernité. Des chats vous accueillent avec des réceptionnistes adorables. Lits très confortables et petit déjeuner varié et copieux. Nous y reviendrons sans hésiter pour un prochain séjour !!

Great location!
We chose this hotel because it was walking distance to many things we wanted to see in Amsterdam. A bonus was that a train stop is only a block away so you can easily get anywhere. We arrived on a red eye flight and got to the hotel before noon. We had hoped to just sit in the lobby and play cards for a couple of hours. However - they offered us brunch and got our room ready within an hour so we got a much needed afternoon nap before our canal tour! We didn’t realize there would be such a steep stair climb but that is not uncommon in the area. The room had what we needed but don’t expect extra space. Would stay here again! They have 2 nice cats. If you have a cat allergy, that could be an issue.

Quick trip to Amsterdam
I only stayed for a long weekend, but found the hotel to be quaint, clean & conveniently located. Staff were friendly and answered questions, lobby was large and decorated for Christmas (& had lots of local info), and the included daily breakfast was plentiful. The room itself was a modest size in comparison to US hotels but, nothing out of the ordinary for European standards. There was a booklet with information about the history of the hotel in the room which I thought was a really nice touch. I read the reviews & was knew to expect all of the stairs, so they weren’t bothersome; I was on the second floor with about 60 steps to get to my room.

Lovely hotel with wonderful staff
Beware the stairs! Other than the extremely steep stairs up to the lobby and then again up to the guest floors, this was a charming hotel with gracious and accommodating staff. Breakfast was delightful, the location was eminently walkable and yet quiet, and we would be very happy to stay here again.

Great location! The breakfast was ok, but the eggs were REALLY runny and we were a bit scared to eat them! The rooms were very small! The employees were lovely- so kind!

Charming hotel in historic area. The stairs cannot be overstated!! I honestly would suggest that if you have a checked bag, pick a hotel not in the historic area as they all have very steep stairs. The a/c in the room was spotty at best, BUT the owner was so friendly, charming, and accommodating!!
