Matkat – Anchoragen keskusta

The lodge is huge but the rooms are small. The highlight of this place is the Nordic Spa. We were amazed at how cool that was. Hot tubs, pools, cold plunge pools, saunas and steam rooms all over the forest. We had a great time there. The grill/bar was good and we had a great stay there.

I booked this hotel mainly because it offered a free airport shuttle, which is why I chose it over the Hilton Anchorage. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with our stay. The pictures online are definitely not what you get. The rooms shown on the website look updated and renovated, but our room did not feel upgraded at all. The hallway carpets were honestly disgusting—they looked extremely dirty and really gave the hotel a run-down feeling. The carpet inside the room wasn’t much better. I will say that the room itself was clean, which I appreciated, and the airport shuttle was convenient. However, for the price we paid, I honestly think this hotel is extremely overpriced for what you get. We are heading to Hawaii and staying at a beautiful resort for considerably less than what we paid here. For the price, I expected a much nicer and more updated property. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again.
