”Very basic hotel, fine if you just need somewhere to sleep for the night. Hot taps are very hot and water pressure is very high, so difficult to get the flow and temperature right for a shower, without it being too hot or too cold, or blasting water horizontally. Shower curtain very small so bathroom floor is flooded after a shower. Beds are very hard and not very comfortable. I only booked this because nothing else was available (high demand due to BTCC at Thruxton). Staff was very friendly...

”We had a fantastic time , Jenny is a prefect host. We arrived in the afternoon, used they pool and garden, then the next day she allowed us to use the pool again after check out time. Breakfast was delicious, the room was clean and cosy. It was a very hot day/night, she provided a fan and we managed to stay cool. Turns out she comes from my home town, so we had a lot to chat about. We just needed some peace and quiet to relax after a difficult week. Thank you Jenny for a wonderful stay.”

”The cost for the rooms, dinner and drinks was very expensive for what it was. The bedroom I stayed in had a broken blind which let the light in, the bedside lamp was also broken, the Manager was grumpy, but two very nice waitresses. Otherwise not to be recommended at that price.”

”Had a lovely stay the staff are so nice and helpful. Beds are very comfortable and the food is great. Was so nice being somewhere that caters for gluten free with no problems. This is our second stay here and we will definitely be back.”

”Everything was wonderful EXCEPT no air conditioning so the whole hotel felt like a sauna (we were there during a heat wave in May) and they didn’t do table service for dinner so we had to order our food and drinks from the bar, which isn’t the end of the world but knocks a star off the rating. Room was super cute, well decorated, the bathroom was really nice, loved the shower and it was very clean. We were able to walk to Highclere Castle from the hotel (20 minute walk) which was great because...

”Our room was very dirty. There was pink scum around the basin and bath. Cobwebs above the bath. The laminate flooring was uneven and chipped. There were food crumbs in the bedside drawers. I don’t think this room has been cleaned for a while. Breakfast was ok. The fridge where the bottle milk was kept in the breakfast room had dirty stains and hair on the bottom of it. I’m glad the milk was in capped bottles. The staff were very friendly. I guess this place was cheap for a reason!!!”

”This is a very old Inn with oak beams and uneven floors. The facilities were good however the room was unbearably hot. Even though we had 2 fans on we were just covered in sweat as soon as we came out of the shower. It was impossible to sleep.”
