”A lovely old property(150 years old) where they have kept some of the original features. I think it is due for an update in a few years but I hope they keep some of the original features. We stayed in the Coastguard cottages which were excellent but connected to the hotel with a covered walkway. The staff were excellent and very obliging. The evening meals were excellent although breakfasts were typical large hotel buffet style.i would still recommend it though.”

”all staff superb, 100% staff satisfaction , hotel more a 3 star skimp and saving lets it down , the pool is so small it would be called a plunge pool in Europe, towels were the same size as our hand towels we have at home , room refurbished ,then an old bed let it down, food was excellent and if you just need a place to crash out then it will do”

”We had a panorama sea view, which was excellent, but we had to share the balcony with the next door neigbours, which we found annoying and strange. The location was great on the top of the fill and only about 15 minutes walk from the center. The pool of neighbor hotel (which we were able to use fro free) was very nice (both indoor and outdoor), and the water even +31 celcius! The staff at the hotel were friendly, but did not give on impression of very high-quality hotel. They were very young and...

”I’ve stayed here a couple of times now - usually with my wee budgie. I stay in hotels weekly with work but nowhere comes close to Knoll. It’s very friendly here and it’s a very special place, full of character and history. The food has always been consistently good as has the service and cleanliness. Also super that they have a tiny golf course, tortoise and tennis courts which you can use and the outdoor pool is lovely in the summer ”
