”Rooms are a bit aged. Dining in the hotel was superior but very expensive. Breakfast is also recommendable. You absolutely need a car to go anywhere, the close by Tarbert is a nice fishing village.”

”Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend St.Leonards Guest House. Lovely room, quirky and very well presented, exceptionally clean and a comfortable bed. Great having the fridge in the room with fresh milk for tea and coffee. Beautiful selection for breakfast. The host Keith was absolutely lovely and went above and beyond during our stay. We would stay here again without hesitation.”

”The hotel review rating is overrated in my opinion. The hallway to our room smelled aweful. The carpet in the room was stained a lot and seemed not been vacuumed. There were dark hair on the bedding and pillow. The restroom had many dark spots between the tiles especially at the shower. Everything seemed outdated. The parking infront of the entrance was good though. The breakfast was not good at all either. Food tasted bland and bacon was cold. Nothing fresh of vegetables or fruits. ”

”Hi. Good location for the ferry. Thought id booked breakfast in with my stay to be told i had to pay for it. No paperwork on checkin so nice n easy. Really old hotel, my room was the attic, cold n wied smell. Heater provided but i couldnt work out how to use it but only there 1 night n bed fabulously comfy so very cold when out of bed. Didnt want to complain for only 1 night but im 100% sure the manager would have sorted it out, he was really nice n so were his staff. Great position to see Holy...

”Our Dog was welcomed. Very friendly and approachable staff, our room was as expected clean and exactly what we required as being disabled, on the ground floor and a walk in shower. We had no problems getting there, and being there, staff were excellent and attentive, Especially Gavin GM. Dale HM, and Pete the Executive Chef. Other staff were friendly and helpful too. We had a great stay.”

”Arrived to a luke warm welcome. The bedroom window was wide open, to air the room, which was damp. The reception area stank of cigarettes smoke. The carpets are so grubby, some steps the carpet is held together with gaffer tape. When we said we wouldn’t be staying because it wasn’t suitable and damp and in general disrepair. We weren’t offered any incentive to stay or give an option for a better room. This hotel would have been amazing in the 1980’s but has indeed lost all its charm. ”

”We had a lovely room with a large bathtub. The bed was very comfortable. The town lost power but we still had hot water which was awesome as it allowed us to have hot showers in the morning. They also made arrangements for a complimentary hot breakfast our second morning when the power was back on. Holly was excellent and enabled us to check in even without the power. ”We had a wonderful stay in the spacious and elegant Merchant’s Suite, which had a wood stove and a jetted tub. The staff were all very kind and welcoming. We enjoyed all the breakfast options and we had dinner multiple nights in the pub- delicious. ”
