”The hotel is less than a year old and looks modern and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. There was plenty of parking in the council car park behind the hotel which is free overnight but charges from 8:00 am. And the hotel is very convenient for the town centre and the ring road.”

”Stayed for 2 nights for sabbath concert, check in pretty easy, room was nice, bed was comfy, thick pillows (maybe a little too thick but not an issue). Very close to bescot train station only a few min walk. We had food on first evening pizzas pricey but really nice. I ordered an 8inch, they ran out but rather than saying I couldn’t have it they sent out a 12inch for no extra charge which was good! Chips were horrible though. Breakfast however was really good, not a huge choice but what was...
”Spent two nights as a couple with a small dog. Totally relaxing break on the banks of the River Trent. Stayed in one of the adjacent cottages (no 14). Excellent. Only niggles were that although the bathroom had been recently refurbished, the extractor fan was not working and there was nowhere to hang a towel. Bathroom had the best shower I have ever used. Talk about a whoosh!
We ate both nights in the restaurant. It had a limited menu, but the food was good. Food and drinks reasonably priced....
”I would like to commend the front desk staff member (Young Gentlemen) who checked me in on 19 July 2025 at 1:30 PM. He was courteous, respectful, and provided excellent service, accommodating my request and even allowing me to choose my preferred room.
His professionalism and warm hospitality truly stood out — far exceeding the service I’ve experienced at other Crowne Plaza IHG hotels during my travels from London to Birmingham to Glasgow as an Asian guest.

"Disturbingly noisy at least during the week end nights because of the loud music coming from the neighbouring clubs and bars till early hours.
Fortunately I was not close to the ongoing renovation work of the hotel itself.
Other little flaws like non-functioning USB outlet and lightning, too.
Kind cleaning staff and some receptionists, however majority of people at the reception did not seem to be able to communicate neither with guests nor between themselves. Their stubbornly quiet way of working without speaking and just leaving the customer was embarrasing."
