”Super quiet location, rooms were beautifully done and recently refurbished. Very much liked the underfloor heating in the bathroom and super comfy bed. The communal area and restaurant were closed when we visited but there is a fab deli, 2 mins up road and linked to wider Castle Ashby estate. Overall a gem of a hotel and ideal for quiet break to relax and refresh. ”

”I have stayed at hundreds of hotels and this is by far the best, helpful, friendly and professional staff, room spotless as expected. The facilities were also very nice, the spa and restaurant were exceptional. But the biggest thing is the historic building itself, what a place, will !00% be returning when we need a country escape!”

”The room was a great size with good facilities including a sofa area with desk and a large TV. Nice White Company amenities in the bathroom. I particularly loved the teapot and lovely selection of teas and coffee bags (rather than nasty instant coffee sachets). The only downside was that despite having several lamps the room was way too dark. There's no ceiling light and all of the bulbs in the lamps are warm white and not particularly bright, and covered by heavy lampshades, so they're not...

”Enjoyable third one night stay over recent years near to Christmas as a stopover to visit relatives in Oakham. Christmas trees and lights decorations looking good. Good view of Rutland Water and easy access to it through the gardens”

”Almost a new feel and look to the Hotel. The room was quite spacious, clean and the bed very comfortable. Bathroom was also spacious, with premium shower gels, shampoo and soft towels. Would Recommend”
