”Everything was amazing, the food the room and the service. One very minor flaw. On our second and last morning I didn't fancy another of the pubs excellent full English breakfast so asked for porridges and a sausage bap. I was told that I was only allowed one item off the menu even though I feel the cost of my preference was less. The waiter offered to go and enquire if my request could be granted but I refused his offer saying I would go for the full breakfast which he said "was probably best"”

”Lovely hotel, staff were fantastic and room was cleaned to an okay standard. We stayed for 2 nights and our room wasn’t cleaned, tea/coffee not replenished, no fresh towels, toilet rolls not replenished resulting in me having to call reception for more. That was the only downside to the stay”

”Very welcoming, great room, lovely outdoor space and good service. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. We ate dinner, breakfast and afternoon tea at he hotel and all were excellent. Thank you!”

”Love the old antiqueness but spotlessness of the property alsao loved the huge wonbderful Breakfast i was full till suppertime thank youy Oakham and England for ytour kindness hope to come again i came from Canada”

”Stayed here many times but disappointed the room (carpet) didn't look clean, bathroom, this is only room with a bath and this will be the third time I've had this room and the bath taps don't work you can only use the shower. Previously I've had water in the room but not this time. Didn't look like the tea, coffee, etc. had been topped up”

”Very friendly staff and great location next to the water. You can walk from hotel to nearby villages or around the perimeter of the lake. The room was clean, well equipped and had a garden view and sofa.”

”Located in Glaston, we used the old pheasant for an overnight base whilst travelling through. Family suite was generous in space, clean and comfortable. Kids had private sleeping space. We enjoyed an evening meal in the restaurant and was looked after by the front of house team who were excellent. We stayed for breakfast and enjoyed both a continental and cooked breakfast. Food was value for money and service was fantastic throughout the visit. Would stay again. Value for money.”

”The rooms are very well maintained and clean, the food was outstanding as are the staff.”

”Nice room, with excellent bathroom. The outside needs tidying up and some painting, so we were initially concerned when we arrived, but the rooms were fine. Nice quiet location too. The cafe is shut due to staff illness, looks like has been for a while but the Two Flags cafe a mile down the road is excellent for all day breakfasts, especially if you like motorbikes.”

”Property a little dated but clean and functional. Lovely staff very happy to help. We were upgraded to an executive suite which had a 4 poster bed. Very nice and unexpected.”

”Different room this time liked it more than the junior suite. Great rate, seems too cheap for the quality of the accommodation. Nice bathroom. It’s an old old old very old building so I understand that it’s difficult to maintain the sash windows, I hope that they can make some progress with this over the next year or so”

”Good centrally located hotel with parking. Easy to visit the charming town. Good breakfast and good choices for lunch and dinner”
