”The staff were very welcoming, helpful and interacted with customers warmly, we were watching while having a drink and meal in the bar as well as our own experience. ”Location is great for us. We stayed in Room 3 in the courtyard as we had a small dog with us and they are not allowed in the Main Hotel rooms. We have stayed in this room before - its an excellent size but on the first floor. It seems to have been modernised from when we were last there which was nice. We didn't have breakfast or evening meal there as it is "hotel prices". Within walking distance of the hotel is one of the best pubs in Derbyshire - The Hollybush Inn - great beer and grub.”

”We had a fantastic stay at The Family Tree. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was lovely, clean and quiet. And the breakfast was amazing! Just a few minutes’ drive from the Tramway Museum, or a lovely 40-minute walk along the canal to the Hurt Arms in Ambergate. In the end, we were sorry that we were only staying the one night; wish we could have stayed longer. We will absolutely stay here again the next time we’re in Derbyshire!”

”The room, a junior suite, was most comfortable but sadly lacking in air-conditioning, although the current heat wave has been exceptional. Lovely views, peaceful, apart from the noise of the butterflies, all that one could wish for. For the price the owners may want to consider replacing the square of soap with refillable pump dispensers and providing a loo brush! ”Lift out of order and as I am not able to walk far was a disadvantage Room far too hot some rooms had a fan but not ours. Bathroom door would not close which needed adjustment”

”A wonderful, peaceful break at Borrowfield Lodge. With all the styling and privacy, You can feel like you're way out in the countryside, despite being within easy travel distant of plenty of things to do in Derby. A perfect place to unwind and relax. Great facilities, spotlessly clean and comfortable. I'll definitely be booking again.”

”I had a lovely overnight stay in the wel presented Willow Lodge. The room was immaculate and had some lovely touches from the owners. The location is stunning, you will not be disappointed. Slightly disappointing for me was the price for the electric vehicle charging. But would not be put off booking again..”

”The hotel is fabulous, the staff are incredibly friendly and the rooms are clean and luxurious. The only thing that could be improved is to fit air conditioning in the rooms. At night the room became quite stuffy and it's not possible to open patio doors at night. Apart from that - amazing”
