”A lovely hotel and lovely staff. Great location. We are in the bar and food was excellent as well. There was a slight hiccup on our arrival due to a delayed ferry but the staff couldn't do enough for us after that. We will definitely return and recover.mend it to anyone”

”Great views from the bedroom towards the sea (apart from the infamous Shanklin lift shaft). Sun rise while lying in bed was fantastic to see. Staff were great and the food was good. Although some areas were a little worn and could do with a bit of TLC, it was very clean and tidy.”

”Issues about the room Open the door - strong musky smell even with the window open. On arrival in the room I had to remove 5 spiders (each in different corners of the room) aswell as several cobwebs. Carpet had a massive stain upon entering the room which probably added to the musky smell. Room uninviting and very small for double. Décor was 1970's styled, looking incredibly dated. Bath had large scattered spots of paint so you certainly wouldn't bath in it. Can’t shave as there’s no plug in...

”The hotel doesn’t have a dedicated free parking space. However, you have parking in front of the hotel (on the beach road) which is a paid parking.”

”The chalet was really nice with new and modern decorations. Sufficient of cookware and kitchen utensils. The location was perfect for the nearby beaches and local shops. The only downside was about the amount of toiletries. We had 4 people staying for 3 nights, but there were only 2 toilet rolls and tester-sized shampoo and shower gel. ”

”I particularly liked the location of the hotel which is near the pierhead the trains and the bus terminus There is a good restaurant and bar The armchairs in the lounge could go with replacing but if you like Victorian hotels you will like this”

”Lovely welcome, good room, clean and cheerful. Convenient with free parking and within walking distance of the old village. Great breakfast too!”

”Personally I would no revisit, This is what I would expect student accommodation to look like, after its been used for a few months. The towels were a nice touch though. ”

”The hotel was lovely, and Linda & Des were VERY welcoming and accommodating. They have a little “shop” where you can buy toiletries, wine, drinks, crisps, snacks etc which was very convenient. The breakfasts were AMAAAAZING - lots of options! The only down side was the water was not hot and the water pressure in the shower was low.”

”Esk Vale was a lovely B&B. Our host was friendly and readily available. Our room was clean, warm and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and generous. Would definitely stay again. A walk to restaurants and water. ”
