”The staff at the hotel was so so lovely and very helpful. We were racing at Oulton Park and it was a hot weekend and they always filled my water bottle with lots of ice so I could stay cool. The restaurant had good food. For a very simple hotel I was very impressed with the staff and also how clean the room was. It's definitely not a super fancy hotel but for a quick drive to the track it's great.”

The food that evening was excellent, and as it was a warm evening we spent a pleasant time sitting outside with our drinks afterwards. ”Had a great stay here, it had everything from great food , friendly staff and a well equipped gym and pool. To top it off for us, it’s dog friendly too! All the staff were super helpful and attentive to our needs, from reception to bar and gym staff. Everyone made us feel so welcome, even the gym members. ”Liked the garden, but it needs a little C&A... Disabled car parking near to our room (No.5) was an excellent bonus. Breakfast was excellent but a bit expensive. Staff were all very courtious and helpful. Direct booking rather than via an agency is preferred. We will certainly be recomending the Lion to our friends and relations and using you again next time we are in the area. ”Room was nice enough but not practical ..... lighting was poor, there were no bedside cabinets, there was no dressing table, there was one easy chair and one stool (it was a double room so why not two chairs) bath/shower not guest friendly, the bath plug/drain did not drain properly which resulted in my having to stand in very hot scalding water for my shower and getting bright red feet as a result, there was no toilet brush either which is a basic hygiene matter. ”Stayed for one night, with my son, for a Mazda MX5 car meet up in the car park- the reason for our stay. The hotel is very nice. We had a meal in the Savvy Fox - i like the decor. The meal was very nice - but not cheap. The twin room was very basic, but was clean and adequate for a one night stay. The beds were very comfortable and we had a good night's sleep.
