”We stayed at Woodhall hotel and spa for 4 nights in the lodges. There was not much natural light entering the room and noise can be heard from the adjoining room The building could do with some refurbishment The views and gardens are beautiful The staff were really excellent and nothing was too much trouble The food was equally good with some fabulous combinations and flavours and, they have an interesting wine list, if slightly on the pricey side. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Thank you”

”The rooms are advertised as luxury but in my single room there wasn’t a wardrobe or any coat hangers just a cluster of about three hooks hinged together. The food in the Henry VIII restaurant left a lot to be desired only ate the evening meal there on one occasion out of a 4 night stay, the fish and chips were very fatty and the chips were nearly black. Regards to the breakfast over the 4 mornings the fried eggs were always cremated as was the bacon, on one morning I had a poached egg which...

”Very nice staff, very clean room, nice clean bathroom nice shower over the bath plenty of hot water good water pressure, 2 small bottles of shampoo and body wash and a small bar of soap towels provided. Nice room with desk and chairs the bed was comfortable. Not enough power points to charge your phone/laptop/watch no USB points especially difficult if two people have items to charge at the same time maybe bring an extension lead/plug. Car parking is charged and expensive especially if staying...

”Spa and facilities were very nice, spacious steam and sauna etc. Breakfast was good. The room we stayed in ( annexe) was tired looking and basic, no walk in shower and the extractor fan didn’t work. Walls very thin and could hear the conversations of people in next room. Bed sheets looked clean but then discovered some stains on them . So we used other bed sheets. After staying in other parts of this hotel previously we were disappointed with the rooms in the annexe part”

”Disappointing one night stop over. Its more of a business traveller, conference & private events venue than a country house hotel. Suite 15 is directly opposite the kitchen extractor fan which is on from before 5.00am until the kitchen closes at night & can easily be heard in the room. The room only had one bedside table & lamp, the glazed entrance is fitted with opaque glass & is the only window so there is no view. If you could see out you would be looking at the car park. ”Parking was good, right outside our room. Staff were very friendly and nice. There was a good choice for breakfast of cooked and cereal. The room was clean, did notice a couple of spiders, one small one in the bath which was easily washed down the bath and one above the wardrobe storage, which didn't cause any problems. The light in the mirror one side had dimmed. Very central to York 1/2 and hour and 1 hour from Bridlington. There is a manned bar, but on Wednesday night it wasn't open which...

”What a beautiful room! Great to have a sofa and a big tv with lots of channels to choose from. Slept fairly well, but there was no aircon and the windows opened just a little bit. It’s a bit far from the city centre but totally walkable. Train station about 10 min walk away. It was a lovely stay overall, but very pricey.”

”The room itself was ok. Strange unpleasant food smells emanating from bathroom. Check in was well explained but tricky getting code on lock box outside in the dark. Relieved to be staying only one night and would not rebook”
