”The few lovely staff are coping with a sadly run down building which must have been magnificent in its day. There is no longer a restaurant or bar and the drive has huge poorly filled pot holes. Such a shame”

”We were visiting for a gig at Piece Hall and are so glad we chose to stay at this absolutely wonderful hotel on the outskirts of Halifax. From the moment we arrived the staff were warm, polite and helpful and this continued for the duration of our stay. As it was such a nice day, we sat in the beautiful garden and enjoyed drinks and food from the bar menu before heading into town for our concert. . Breakfast (extra) was also very good indeed. It’s not the cheapest hotel, and not the most fancy...

”Very nice and helpful staff. A parking garage and some shops and restaurants were in immediate vicinity. The hotel is 20-25mins walking distance from Halifax train station, be advised though that the entire walk is uphill since the station is the lowest point of the city. The city itself is very accessible from the hotel with most shops and locations just a few minutes away. Very decently sized rooms with room for your luggage without feeling cramped in.”

”Very handy hotel for when I was attending a conference. Room was comfortable and very grateful for the large fan! Everything spotlessly clean. The staff were brilliant, so helpful and friendly, made the whole stay very pleasant, thank you! Overall brilliant value for money. Would definitely recommend.”

”This was a very nice clean location. Only down fall was the fact the fan in the room wasn’t that great down the unexpected hot weather, as the room was extremely hot. Other than that it was a great place.”

”Room basic but clean. Facilities are slightly tired but adequate. The only slight complaint was that the shower was not much more than a dribble but the water was warm. Staff helpful and friendly. Note: Hebden Bridge is hilly and the hostel is up the hill from the town centre. It is not that far and should not put you off using the hostel”

”Food was great and bar was well kept. Bed was comfy so comfortable in fact I overslept! Such a good find, not overly pretentious just good quality, helpful staff and good food. Perfect for a business stop over. WiFi was also reliable.”
