”Okay, it's nice enough for hiking and it's clean with a good view. Unfortunately, there is no blow dryer and the communication with the staff is hit or miss. I asked for a 3rd for room with my reservation, but the hotel owners said second floor would be better. Well, you can hear everything from the people above (stomping around and yelling). The area was hit hard from Helene...a lot lf trails still closed and not much for restaurant options in downtown Spruce Pine as they're still recovering.”

”Beautiful historic inn by the river. Close to downtown Damascus. We were able to walk to our bike shuttle to get on the creeper. Nice restaurants within walking distance and the hotel in the restaurant was really good. Loved our room and the breakfast in the morning was delicious. The lady in charge of breakfast is a gem. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. You will love this place!”

”The main inn is charming. The bunkhouse is a different story, and the gap between the two is wide enough that I felt misled by the photos used to sell the property. The room is tiny. Just know a king bed takes up almost all of the floor space, and the only other furniture are small nightstands, a luggage rack, a folding chair, and a closet with a curtain instead of a door. There is no room to unpack or move around comfortably. The dark green paint and trim look moody in photos, but in person...

”Buckhorn Inn is an absolute must for traveling through/staying around the Shenandoah, Blue Ridge & Staunton area! The owners maintain the historic beauty of the property while making it comfortable, accessible and cozy. The property’s history is fascinating and the location is convenient to hiking and downtown amenities. The owners even stayed late to ensure my partner and I got checked in safely. We can’t wait to visit again soon & see how the newly owned property continues to evolve! Hoping...

”It was self check in, so we didn't see any staff until the next morning. We were the only ones there and pretty much had the run of the place. Beautifully furnished. There was no one else there, but we still wound up on the third floor and had to drag our suitcases up.”
