”We were walking The Dales Way and arrived on a very wet Sunday afternoon. The staff at the pub were extremely welcoming and reserved us a table for dinner. The shepherds hut was lovely and cosy (underfloor heating), exactly what we needed after a long wet walk! The breakfast hamper was very welcome too.”

”Staff were fantastic, very welcoming as we arrived slightly earlier than check in time. The gent from the bar explained all the parking facilities and provided us with a token for the barrier for the car park at rear of the pub. He also provided fresh chilled milk for our room. All other staff were professional, polite & friendly.”

”Stayed in the cottages for a wedding weekend. Everything was lovely and the location is just fabulous. The food was lovely and the staff all worked really hard and were there morning until night. The cosy lounges were a bit too warm when the fires were roaring but there are other rooms to sit in. Will definitely be back 👍”

” Fantastic location - a 5 minute walk from the railway station. Minutes walk to Skipton Town Centre. I have had a wonderful ×3 nights stay at The Railway Inn. Highly recommend. Lovely friendly staff, I felt very welcome -which is much appreciated as a solo traveller. Lovely warm, spotlessly clean ensuite room @number 3. Delicious home cooked food! Thankyou!”

It’s an easy stroll to the Yorkshire Dales Visitor Centre, and there’s a beautiful 4.5‑mile loop walk along the river that brings you back through Grass Wood Nature Reserve. It’s also a perfect base for exploring the wider Dales, with Aysgarth Falls, Hawes, the Ribblehead Viaduct and more all within easy reach. We'll definitely be booking Grassington Lodge...
