”What a lovely place to stay. Friendly, accommodating, quiet, comfortable is only the start of the experience. Definitely book for the dinner which is excellent and served in the small but intimate restaurant. Breakfast - really good with locally supplied produce - doesn't get much better. We stayed in the Bothy which was very big and even had a little kitchenette. Proper fresh milk and bottled water in the fridge meant a decent cup of tea could be had watching the rabbits and guinea fowl on the...

”A lovely hotel in a very beautiful location. A perfect place to stay if you want to walk or explore the local area. The walk down to the waterfall was good though not one for everyone, the last few meters up the valley over rocks was a bit of a scramble and you definitely want to take it easy on the walk back up the hill. We saw a barn owl hunting in the fields behind the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice garden that was well maintained.”

”We had a really enjoyable stay at Townend Farm and Julie was extremely helpful booking a meal at the Tiger Inn and also giving us information about local bus services The breakfast was a really good standard and cooked perfectly . Our only concern was that the rooms were on the second floor with steep staircases which made it difficult to carry suitcases and to access the rooms.Perhaps it might be worth pointing out on the website Thankyou Julie for a lovely stay ”

”Such a lovely traditional pub with good accommodation, situated in a pretty rural setting, a short drive away from Pickering. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. My husband and I had an evening meal in the pub which was excellent, as was breakfast the following morning. Pet friendly. Would definitely recommend the Horseshoe Inn.”
