”Booked for special wedding anniversary. Lovely sea view room with king bed. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful at all times. Room very modern and clean.”

”We’ve stayed at the Old Ship several times, as it tends to be the best value for money. We love the central sea front location (and are prepared to put up with a bit of city noise… the complimentary ear plugs are a nice touch), sea views are well worth paying a bit extra for, and we even enjoy the 100 year old lift …. on the occasional time it arrives before we opt for the stairs instead (it is described optimistically as ‘a bit slow’). Very pleasant staff too. Looking forward to our next stay. ”

”Excellent beds and superfriendly staff, spacious room and bathroom. Within a reasonable walking distance from the center and sights. Only one local bus (77) runs past every 45 min. City sightseeing bus (15£ day) every 30 min. Breakfast was terrible for us non-Brits, I'd pay more to have a breakfast buffet with more choice. Room was super hot, no air conditioning and the windows could be opened only for about 15 cm.”
