Perfect get away for some quiet time in a traditional old pub in a small village walking distance from the train station. Right next to multiple hiking paths to famous hill tops.”

”Really great hotel in a perfect location... Our room was perfect, clean, large & well furnished. Bed, linen & towels all freshly laundered. Evening meal was well presented with lovely fresh local products. The menu and choices were very varied. ( Maybe not too much choice if you dont eat red meat. ) The dining room is well set out and in the summer months would be lovely to be able to sit outside ( we visited January 2026 ) The breakfast menu was equally charming and a difficult decision...

”This hotel met the the main criteria I have for being a good hotel. Fast WiFi, a hot powerful shower, and a good cooked breakfast. I also liked the decor of the bedroom, and how friendly the staff were. I'd happily stay here again.”

”Lovely place, service was authentic and very friendly. Would have helped to have parking instructions beforehand, but they handled it perfectly as well at the location. Breakfast was good and the location was convenient for exploring the Peak district.”

”Todella mieluisa paikka varsinkin liikematkalaiselle. Aamupala normaalisti klo 7 alkaen, mutta henkilökunta järjesti aikaisemmin, joka oli mieluista. Lisäksi alakerran ravintola ja baari ovat todella viihtyisiä. Pitkän työpäivän jälkeen ei tee mieli matkata kauas, joten alakerta oli todella mieluisa. Puhumattakaan hyvästä ja kohtuu hintaisesta ruuasta.”

”Staff were excellent. Food very good. Appreciated group of 10 having separate area for meals. Not keen on the bath in the bedroom, nowhere reachable to put soap or shampoo. No washbasin in the toilet. Would be better to make shower room with toilet. Bath not easy to get in and out.”

”We only stayed one night as we were up to visit our pup for the first time. We had no serious negatives about the hotel with the only exception to a bit more character in the room. Our room was a spacious double, which was clean with a very large, comfortable kingsize. We did book a table in the restaurant and the food was extremely good. It is a shame it wasn’t as busy as we expected, specially as it was 5 days to Xmas. If you stay, I would recommend the restaurant. The food and service was...
