Very clean and cosy hotel
Hotel was great, but travelling to the city was not very easy. Boats leave every hour, but coming back you have to use the metro and the bus. Anuway, s nice little hotel, great breakfast and very clean rooms.

Hyvä hita/laatusuhde
Neljä tähteä liikaa mutta hita/laatusuhde oli erinomainen. Palvelu erinomaista ja kaikki tarpeellinen toimi. Aamiainen valikoimaltaan niukka mutta kaikki tarjottu oli hyvää. Sijainti melko kaukana keskustasta mutta bussi/laiva yhteydet kyllä toimivat, julkiset yhteydet ovat Budapestissä erittäin hyvät ja helppokäyttöiset. Alue itsessään mukava ja hotellin terassilla on mukava istuskella katsellen Tonavan laivojen ohikulkua.Joen rannalla on kesäisin paljon terassiravintoloita,, joita paikalliset tuntuvat suosivan, hintataso paljon alempi kuin keskustassa.

2 stars at most
Don't know who's been giving those 4 stars but they haven't been very demanding. First of all the hotel would have been impossible to find without a taxi, the place was so far from the centrum that you have to take a bus and a Metro, or a boat that doesn't quite get there. Secondly the WIFI connection didn't work inside the rooms - we had to sit next to the reception. There was no personnel in the restaurant so we left to the city centre. The shower was calcified so the water went all over the place, there was some kind of thing buzzing every five minutes in the room and the hallways smelled like some massage oil. The breakfast and the beds were alright though, lifting the place to maybe 2 stars. Oh yea, the computer for quests was crappy, you couldn't put two same symbols (or for example use the delete -button twice in a row) on the keyboard after each other so writing was very annoying. The rooms were clean but very old looking.

Not a four star hotel...
Not a four star hotel!! We were quite dissappointed when we got there. Room was clean but very small. When we went to restaurant to have dinner there was no staff to get our orders... We just sat there and waited for 10 minutes and left. The hotel was very far away from centrum. But by bus and metro it was easy to move. Staff at the reception was very polite. Breakfast was ok. Nice experience but would'nt go second time :)

Hyvä ja halpa
Hotelli oli vanhassa siipirataslaivassa. Palvelu oli hyvää ja hinta halpa.Vaikka sijainti ei ollut ihan keskustassa , bussilla ja metrolla pääsi sinne helposti. Myös Tonavalla risteilevän vesibussin pysäkki oli hotellin laiturissa. Öisin oli rauhallista ja netti toimi hyvin.Aamiainen oli OK (paitsi kahvia ei voi kehua). Suosittelen ja aion mennä uudestaankin Budapestiin matkustaessani.

one night at family wedding
We booked one night here as my Godson was getting married on the boat. It suited us perfectly to have the room after the reception. It is basic, but certainly value for money (though please invest in some more comfortable beds). Exceptional reception staff , both on check in and out. The waiting staff were excellent at the reception, especially Peter. Thank you all.

Gut und günstig.
Schönes, saubereres und ruhiges Hotel. Zwar schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen und es müßte bestimmt auch das eine oder andere renoviert werden. Sehr freundliches Personal und die Lage, etwas Außerhalb aber Budapest gut und günstig zu erreichen. Ich würde dieses Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen.

Отдыхали в конце июля. трансфер обеспечен на отлично. внимательный персонал (есть сотрудник рускоговорящий, ему отдельное спасибо!) логистика из отеля- кораблик каждые пол часа в центр города. отель тихий и уютный. хороший завтрак, помощь администрации по любым вопросам. питание днем в кафешках ( при отеле есть кафе с итальянской кухней) Место куда с удовольствием приеду еще раз.

Schlechte Kritik wirklich nicht gerechtfertigt
Wir waren 1 Erwachsener und 1 Kind für 2 Nächte im Hotel für kleines Geld (63 Euro, 2 Pers. inkl Frühstück...dafür war es super). Das Personal war sehr freundlich und auch hilfbereit (Hilfe bei SMS weil das Handy kaputt war). Entgegen der vorangegangenen Bewertungen kann ich nur sagen: völlig übertrieben. Wir waren in einem total sauberen Zimmer, die Fenster liesen sich öffnen (Obere Etage), ein sauberes Bad mit Dusche, inklusiv Hygieneartikeln. Das Frühstück war ausreichend und völlig in Ordnung. Es gab von Allem genügend und man wurde satt. Gut, ich kenne das Problem mit dem Automatenkaffee aus den Hotels, darum habe ich mir den auch direkt erspart. Aber alles Andere war völlig dem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis entsprechend ok. Wer hier First Class erwartet, sollte auch First Class buchen! Die Zimmer wurden am folgenden Tag auch soweit wieder überholt (Eine gründliche Reinigung fand nicht statt, was ich nicht für notwenig halte, wenn man sich kaum in einem Hotel aufhält) Am ersten Ankunftstag hat es in Strömen geregnet, dafür war dann auch noch das Restaurant und die Promenadenbuden geschlossen. Das war weniger gut, man musste sich eine Alternative ausserhalb suchen. Am nächsten Tag bei Sonne war auch alles wieder geöffnet. Die Promenade ist super nebst Life-Musik, die man nicht im Zimmer hörte! Eine Anmerkung noch: Der Boottransfer ist von 9:45 morgens ab bis abends letztes Boot 20:10 Wer sich da noch gestört fühlt, sollte sich eine Pension im Wald suchen!!!!

We arrived earlier so we were told that we were getting another room since that was ready. We got a room looking over the Danube and the other side of the river. The room was clean. The breakfast was great. There was not noisy. Everything was perfect.

Weekend away with sailing friends so booked this hotel rather than the Gellert. Expected a bit better facilities for 4 star hotel. No tea/coffee making facilities no fridge in the cupboard which was in the room to house a fridge. No bar open or supply of local beer available to buy. Only wine or heineken from reception! Rooms weren't cleaned daily or toiletries replenished. We did however have a late check out without any charge and a tour of the boat areas that were locked. Perhaps it is different in the summer months.

Disappointing
Location and facilities - We knew it was quite a way from the city centre, however, all the local amenities were closed and we feel this should have been stated, there was one small shop about half a mile away. Public transport into the city was nearby. The hotel itself smelled of cooking oil, the vending machine stocked very little and the soft drinks were out of date, Breakfast - out of date yoghurts, reheated hot food and poor quality juice and coffee. The only plus side was the beds were comfortable and bedding was laundered to a good standard

Nice hotel to sleep on Duna River
The hotel is nice and the front dest stuff's Wnglish is very well and kind. Although the location is far from the sight seeing it still a bus 34 can easily get to city center. The room is clean and comfortable and a interesting experience to sleep on the ship.

Die Betten waren eine Katastrophe, jede einzelne Matratzenfeder war zu spüren. Frühstück ließ mehr als zu wünschen übrig! TV-Programme kaum empfangbar (Schneegestöber). Kühlschrank vorhanden, aber leer und unsauber.

Not good!
The hotel itself is very old (at least 40 years). The interior quality is NOT good. Dirty was the bathroom and the shower head was calcified. :-( The positive thing is, it's a very quiet area, we were able to sleep with an open window on the deck. Breakfast is till 10:30 / 11:00 and was always in a bad condition. Coffee machine was broken, they have no air condition, and no juices in the bar. :( Not again! Book another hotel instead.

We were excited to stay on a boat on the Danube in December and would say if we had visited in the summer the whole experience would have been so much better. The Aquamarina is quite a way out of town and unfortunately everything around the hotel shuts down out of season, so we had difficulty finding somewhere local to eat. The hotel had no bar or restaurant open, which was not clear from the website, so we had nowhere to eat on arrival apart from the kebab stall. We enjoyed taking local transport in and out of the city, so that was not a problem. The hotel is very nice and we agreed it was a good experience. Breakfast is absolutely fine - no complaints. Staff are fine, but not very knowledgeable about the area or how to get around. Rooms are comfortable - no more, no less than we expected. All in all would recommend, but probably not in the winter.

Aqua-Marina - It's different, clean and just enjoy
OK - lots to say here. 1. The hotel boat is fab, but riverboat bus only in summer. A good 1.5 kilometer walk to station to get train into town, but a great train service into city centre - only 30-40 mins. Remember, you are out of town... buy your ticket pass first !!!!! You won't get one on the bus and local train station does not have a machine, you must walk another kilometer to the next one. Now hotel ... needs a bit of updating, but to be honest, the staff were great, location brilliant and very warm in winter.... It's not the Hilton, but a refreshing change... the little bar on the jetty does superb beer and "pub" grub. Worth a second trip, but take your walking boots !

Hotel with a difference
We booked the Aquamarina hotel for a pre-christmas break. We appreciated at the point of booking that it was a distance from the centre but public transport is frequently excellent which did not create a problem. We hopped on a 34 bus that arrives every 15 minutes to Aphid metro station then caught a metro train to Deac Ferenc. With a 7 day travel pass, any public transport is accessible. The hotel was warm and clean. The breakfast buffet was well presented with adequate choice. The staff were welcoming, helpful and all very pleasant. Be warned: we took a travel kettle and cups with us so were able to make our favourite cuppa in our room. However other guests had to buy hot drinks and snacks from a kiosk on the quayside which has sporadic opening hours and certainly doesn't open after 8pm. My understanding is that in the summer, a river taxi runs fom the hotel into the centre of Budapest which would be great but it doesn't run in winter months. Don't expect 5* accommodation because it's not. It is what it is - a clean, warm place to stay!

Bester Service auf der Donau
Die Ankunft war unkompliziert und sehr herzlich. Schnell haben wir uns eingelebt, auch wenn man vorher hätte wissen müssen, dass ein Bus fast direkt zum Hotel fährt, so sind wir eine Strecke von 3 Km mit Gepäck bei 33 Grad gelaufen! Das Personal war mehr als freundlich und zu jeder Tages- und Nachtzeit sehr hilfsbereit bei jedwedem Problem! Das Hotel liegt sehr toll am Donauufer direkt an einer kleinen Amüsiermeile für den Stadtteil, daher muss man nur wenige Meter gehen um toll zu essen, netten Menschen zu begegnen oder ein einfach bei einem Bierchen direkt am Ufer der Donau Schiffe zu beobachten und die Seele baumeln zu lassen! In der Woche ist es trotz der vielen kleinen Strandbars und Bistros ab ca. 23 Uhr sehr ruhig, also keine Sorge für Menschen die früh ins Bett wollen! Wer die ungarische Sprache nicht beherrscht, dem ist zu empfehlen sich ein Wörterbuch mitzunehem, da die Speisen nur in Ungarisch an den Tafeln stehen. Sollte jemand ein bisschen Zeit haben, ist der öffentliche Fährverkehr direkt vom Anleger des Hotels bis weit in die Innenstadt Buda und Pests unbedingt zu empfehlen!!!! Alles in allem hat es uns sehr gut gefallen, wir würden es immer wieder machen!
