A lovely small hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is in a lovely position close to the beach. We had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant and the food was amazing.

Lovely location. Tired accommodation. Super food.
Superb spot on the beach. Room rather tired but not uncomfortable, with shower that left a lot to be desired. Room had a huge balcony location with extensive views down the beach. However, lovely food and friendly efficient service. Nice o w night stay with lovely Bude close by.

Ok but needs updating
It was ok but a very dated hotel. The bed was small and really uncomfortable for me although some like memory foam, I didnt. We were told the door would be locked late and the bar was open til 6. we returned at 4.45 for a drink and were locked out. Hardly late. We phoned to be let in. Then w were told the bar closes at 5. Another couple came to get a drink just as we were leaving but it was closed

Honest Review
I read up about the property prior to going. The owners advised they had taken over from previous owners and they were slowly doing up which you can see in the rooms,although still missing a few key things. However the exterior of the property is very shabby. Whilst we arrived early there was no one around only the cleaner who advised us to come back later, which wasn't a problem. The location and view from our room were amazing. The food was excellent just a shame the restaurant or bar were not open after 5pm on the Sunday.

Had a great stay for few days R and R. Room with ocean view and everythimg everything we needed for a comfortable stay.The staff were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble. The food was so good we ate there the whole time of our stay. Very relaxed atmosphere,just what the doctor ordered.

Amazing stay, staff were so friendly and helpful, amazing position on the beach, a true one-off. If you're looking for a laid-back break with great food, amazing people, and a surf-type feel, this is a must.

Beautiful view across Widemouth Bay. Room was basic but clean. Dinner in Restaurant was good , breakfast was excellent. Only one nights stay but very pleasant

Beautiful
The Beach house was absolutely beautiful. We had a family room with a sea view balcony and all I can say is “wow”. The staff at the property were warm and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. The only thing I would say was negative were the beds. We had room 1 and the double bed was futon like! It made the loudest noise every time you turned over and the mattress is probably the worst I have slept on. 10 out of 10 for everything though and we will definitely go back - not in room 1 though!!

Whilst the location is fantastic for the beach. Balcony great. The accommodation we had was disappointing. The twin room we had was apparently due for a refurb but was also described as “retro”, “shabby chic”. If that means then the shower is just a trickle, the toilet facilities need a bit of work, the sliding door broken, there’s a lot of dust and cobwebs on the furniture, lampshades, the beds creak then they have nailed this statement. There is no wardrobe space, (unless you consider a hat stand with coat hangers a wardrobe). The carpet was heavily stained and one of the mats was a deep shade of mucky grey (dirt). Apparently it’s “regularly cleaned”, but didn’t look like that to me. Interesting cupboard space next to one of the single beds, a hole cut out of the side so you can at least put a phone, there are no bedside cabinets. If you are a lighter sleeper there are no blackout curtains. The white lined curtains had dirty marks, as soon as the sun rises a light sleeper will be awake. Balcony door was difficult to lock and the plaster around the door frame was cracked and peeling off. Breakfast was OK, but a bit limited if you didn’t want a cooked breakfast, for example, no muesli, only apples and oranges every day on a 4 day stay. Staff friendly. We did manage to get a table in the restaurant, book before you travel. The menu is mainly fish based. My daughter a bit picky on fish but ate all her fish and chips. Lovely food.

Family run guest house, who couldn’t do enough for you. From the outside property looks run down, but rooms are lovely with beautiful views over the bay. Restaurant fantastic, menu not massive but quality first class. It is very popular with the locals. Ideal location for beach lovers

Beautiful location to watch the sunset set over the bay with a drink in hand. The food in the restaurant was lovely and had helpful polite staff throughout. Plenty of parking on site and the room was well furnished and spotless.

Perfect beach side location
We had a wonderful stay at the Beach House for 2 nights, the location is perfect, right on the beach and just a short drive from Bude town centre. The photos of the hotel are very accurate; overall the hotel is not the most modern but the bedrooms have been refurbished to a high standard, were clean and comfy, perfect for a short break. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was incredibly good, as was breakfast each morning. The staff are very friendly and made us feel welcome. We couldn't fault the hotel and would stay again in the future. Thank you for having us!
