For a hostel experience this place was outstanding. Clean, everything like brand new, good check-in experience, communication responsive, and centrally located. On a bus route, tho' I recommend renting a car if possible as everything on Pico Is. is more accessible if you have your own transportation. ...

You get what you pay for
Pros: nice location and building, sea view, clean rooms, a lot of parking space Cons: unpleasant showers and toilets (lights broken, hot water not always working, shower holders broken etc.), poor soundproofing It was nice that the breakfast included even thought the breakfast was very simple

Casa Santana is relatively recently renovated traditional stone house with beautiful views out over the sea and the island of Sao Jorge and easy access to some lovely walks including one along the coast.
