Grounds were beautiful as well as common areas of the main hotel, breakfast was excellent, such a wide variety of hot and cold items, something for everyone! Food at bar was a bit overpriced, and they overcooked my chicken sandwich:(, but fish & chips were excellent. We got âupgradedâ to St Pierreâs Village to the honeymoon suite, a very odd room with bathroom, sitting area (only a two person sofa) with tv & dining room table on first floor, king bed & tv on second floor up a spiral staircase. A sink on second floor but no toilet. Place has seen better days and bed was stiff, too stiff for my liking. Patio outside had some furniture that hadnât been cleaned in weeks, so patio was useless. One radiator was broken and stuck on, way too hot, they first sent the bar folks to try and fix it, and after they couldnât the maintenance guy finally came to take care of it. He knew it was already a problem so I donât know why it wasnât fixed before we checked in. The buildings in the village reminded me of army barracks, and as such was a total disconnect vs the old main hotel that was nicely updated and full of charm. Iâm frankly surprised Marriott put their name of this hotel given the shorty & tackiness of the village area. Staff was very friendly, but mgmt needs to upgrade the villages to the standard of say the dining rooms. Very disappointedâŠ.the pool, hot tub, sauna & steam room was great, except that they rent out the pool for swim lessons for kids, not very relaxing.
