Love it

Who doesn’t love being right on the beach and able to walk to Carlsbad’s restaurants and shopping. Over the years we have stayed in all three units of this property and we are already looking to rebook again. The units are clean, quiet and picturesque. Tons of amenities. Management is awesome. Barefoot morning beach walks, vibrant ocean sunsets, the sounds of the surf… Five plus stars.

Great spot, nice to have the ocean right there. Owners wouldnt let us reschedule when we asked due to the bad storm. Turned out ok but was surprised there was no consideration for our request.

Great location, needs updating

We enjoyed our stay, the location was great. We loved watching the sunsets and collecting rocks and shells. The property is dated inside and the tub is slow to drain. There is limited stuff in the kitchen and no dishwasher. Overall, we had a great time and would stay again.

Beach stay

Beautiful sounds of waves and unparalelled beach access. Pictures were accurate, and the best views were from the ditchen and dining area. The outside private patio that goes with this unit was a nice bonus. The only negative was the lack of equipment in the otherwise stocked kitchen....dinner on night one was a challenge with only one fork for four people! Coffee the next morning was challenging with one coffee mug! Contacted the support people in the early morning, and the problem remedied by five that evening.

Great location but that’s about it

We were so excited for our staycation with our friends visiting from arizona! The condo was a great location for the beach with its own stairs right to the sand and was just a short walk to the village which was great. Unfortunately the condo and management of the property itself were extremely unresponsive and unhelpful. The photos of the property showed a couch in one of the living spaces, well it was actually just a small love seat and there were only two awkward round chairs in the living space with the tv so it was not very relaxing nor comfy for movie nights. We did not know that the unit we rented was on the bottom floor and the guests above us (what seemed to be 25 or ore people) were beyond loud until nearly midnight every night. We could hear every footstep and it really sounded like reindeer rolling bowling balls across the floor every minute. It was terrible. We had a three year old with us and thankfully she could sleep but the noise was beyond annoying and so loud. We tried to contact the property management company but they were useless and just kept saying we have a very high volume of calls. We needed a replacement of sheets and our friend did talk to someone finally and they said they would bring them before night. Well they didn’t and we tried to call again and we’re on hold for over 40 min with no answer. The sheets didn’t show up until the next morning :( The kitchen did not have essential items for cooking like oil or butter and there was no wine opener to be found so we literally had to go purchase one. On our last day the sink in the kitchen and bathroom backed up with disgusting green gross water - thankfully we were checking out bc I don’t think anyone at Vacasa would even help us. It’s really quite terrible to spend a lot of money and be treated as if we didn’t even exist. In our opinion Vacasa just rents out to make money and does absolutely nothing to ensure your stay is great. Great location but terrible everything else. I wish we could request our money back.

Stunning Views with a home style feel

I rented this property to honor my moms first angel anniversary with my best friend and aunt. The location and space could not have been more perfect. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and the sunsets were unreal. Very clean and quiet. Thank you for the accommodations. We will definitely be back again!

Overall great place to stay

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed here. It’s in a great spot right on the beach and close to all the main shops and restaurants in Carlsbad. The building is a little older but everything is functional. The unit it self is good shape. I only have 3 small complaints which should by no means be a deal breaker. We stayed in the room with the king bed and it was fine. No one stayed in the other room with the queen bed however every time I went in there it was freezing cold. There’s a unit above this one and any time someone walks up there it is super loud, if you’re a light sleeper bring ear plugs. Lastly I wish the curtains covered the windows a little better. The windows face the public beach entrance and I felt like people were staring every time they were walking down to the beach. Overall this is a great place to stay and I’d gladly stay here again.

Plumbing problems on our 2nd morning. Rental only had one bathroom, backed up to the tub.

Called several time times, we had to use bathroom at a gas station. Problem was not fixed the same day. We checked into a hotel. I called before we left, they told us it would be taken care of the next day. They expected us to stay without a functioning toilet! Not acceptable. The property needs maintenance. The 2 fire pits were not working, the tech couldn’t remedy. The floor transition from guest room to kitchen is loose, kept tripping over it. Curtains are stained. The sheet rock above the windows is peeling and flakes.

Great location right on the sand

Can’t get any better than being right on the beach. The house was clean and yes the kitchen is a bit outdated but still it was worth the price we paid for it. Awesome views of the ocean and plenty of outdoor seating available. We loved having access to all the beach chairs/umbrellas and laundry room. The rental also had plenty of beach towels available for us to use - also the kitchen had pots/pans/bowls/cups and plenty of silverware . Loved the outdoor shower and hose so we could rinse off our sandy feet before stepping back into the house. This was the perfect spot for our family of four. We didnt encounter any issues, the only exception was one mosquito and one roach on the first night. But didn’t see any bugs the rest of our weekend stay. Beds were comfortable. Overall we were very happy with our choice and our long weekend!

Wonderful location and views!

We enjoyed our stay and would come back for sure. Very clean and accommodating. Outdoor area was amazing too with o lt steps to the sand. The only change we might make is a little more privacy (curtains for all windows). Thanks for having us!

Location, Location, Location

An excellent value for the price! The property management was very responsive. Check-in is at 4pm--which is later than I'm accustomed to. You cannot check in without the property manager meeting you upon arrival. However, I emailed the company expressing my disappointment at such a late check-in. Management was quick to respond and arranged for someone to meet us earlier. We never had to use our car once we got to our destination. The Village is within walking distance--.5-1 mile from almost anything in the area. Having direct access to the beach was priceless. Lots of patio space and decks below to enjoy the ocean without actually being on the sand. Caveats: Public beach access next to the property. I believe this must have been a house that was converted to units which are stacked so if you are in a lower unit, foot traffic from above might be an issue. There is no air conditioning however there are ceiling fans and portable fans. Heat is typically not an issue but it was a little warm without keeping doors open at night as we were having a heat wave. The upholstered furniture was a little shabby. I realize that with a rental, furnishings take a beating but the sofa could use a good cleaning or reupholstering. I will say the beds were VERY comfortable. Nothing worse than not being able to get a good night's sleep. All in all, a great weekend get away!

DUMP!!!TERRIBLY RUN DOWN AND FALLING APART/INFESTED W BUGS

This is BY FAR the worst experience we've ever had in over 20+ yrs of renting vacation homes in the Carlsbad/Oceanside area. The rental is NOTHING like the photos, which have been retouched to cover up the horrible condition of this rental. Within a few hours of checking in we realized this unit is infested with mosquitos, ants and roaches. Disgusting! We called immediately and their solution was to drop off a can of Raid. Terrible customer service at the number you have to call to report issues. The drywall is coming apart INSIDE the unit, around all the windows. Drywall dust from falling drywall covered the windowsills and floor. Whoever cleans this unit is ripping off every renter that stays here. Within a couple minutes of check-in our feet were black from the floor, which wasn't mopped. There were dark smears of something ALL over the walls and the white curtains in the dining area. We quickly realized it was BLOOD from mosquitos being smashed against the wall and curtains. This blood wasn't ours and posed a major health concern for us. One of our family members is severely immunocompromised and can't be in an unclean space. We called back to cust svs to advise that we needed to check out and find other accommodations. They said they'd need to send someone out to inspect the next day. We stayed until they inspected and took photos of everything. The rental guy, Jesus was disgusted at what he saw as well, but said there was nothing they could do...that they needed to contact a third party company to advise of our complaints. There were so many problems that we had a list of 17 things that were in poor working order or unusable, or filthy. This unit needs to be taken off the market, major repairs made, properly cleaned, fumigated and most of the furnishings replaced. The kitchen was the most poorly stocked kitchen we have ever seen. There were 4 of us in our party and only 1 fork. ONE!!! We filed a formal complaint about everything via multiple phone calls and at least 8 emails. We checked out after a day and a half and found somewhere else to stay so our entire vacation wasn't ruined by staying in this dump. I'm still awaiting a response to our request for partial credit of our rental price, and the cleaning fee refunded. They don't care and they don't respond to requests for any compensation. Never had a worse experience and I'm filing formal complaints with the BBB, Health Department and Chamber of Commerce.

Great location

This place has excellent location. It’s right on a nice beach with a great view of ocean from the couch. Plus you can hear the waves from inside the place. There are lots of restaurants 5 minutes away by car. Everything was very clean and the beds were comfortable. In the kitchen there’s a couple pots and pans, but it’s very minimal for those wanting to cook meals. A few oven safe pans and some foil would have been nice to have.

Rise with the mermaids, sleep with the waves

Great location, windows open to a fantastic slice of Carlsbad. So much open space from patio, to lawns to fire pit and that is before you stepped off the property onto the sand. Nice off street parking. Bedrooms are okay, living space is nice. The windows open west and northwest providing a wonderful cool morning and a views all day long.

Sea breeze review

Location and property is great. They have a great property but needs a little TLC. Windows were dirty (bird droppings) which ruined the nice view of the ocean. Stains on the sofa. Other than that a good spot to stay.

Ocean side!

Fabulous location and views! Nice chaise lounges and grassy area. I highly recommend this condo! Could be hot in the summer though due to west facing windows! Fans available though. Kitchen well appointed! Just beautiful!
