”Our room had a moldy, musty smell....Our sinuses were a mess by morning and we barely got any sleep. The air conditioning didn't work very well and the fridge didn't either. The bathroom counter was all chipped up and the furniture in our suite was dirty and worn.”

”My stay at the Heartland was excellent. Easy check in & out. Room was large and clean with plenty of towels. Appliances work, water good temperature and pressure. Breakfast offered protein and good coffee, and staff was on hand keeping stock levels up and wiping down tables. I had a good stay.”

”Both the kickback meal and breakfast were excellent and saved us money by not having to eat out. The extra perks of unlimited soda and popcorn make the money spent on our room an even better value. Our room was clean and comfortable and the location was perfect for checking out the area. We would definitely stay here again if in Iowa city area in the future.”

”Very unique property. Nice room. Downside to being an old mill was sounds echoed. We had very noisy neighbors across the hall. We called the desk to complain and they handled it promptly but something to note.”

”Very comfortable stay and you can’t beat the area for good dinner spots and a walk on the river front. The hot tub was wonderful and the coffee shop in the hotel. Very quality stay.”

”Unfortunately really noisy neighbors who were playing rap music very loud and shouting at each other at 2am. Advised front desk who spoke to them and noise/shouting started again a few minutes later. Advised front desk again but nothing changed. Complained again with same level of disruption at 5am. 7-8 people in next room, loud music, banging in walls, shouting, partying in the hallway. Hotel said they would comp parking and breakfast but no refund. I believe the offending guests should have...

”I forgot to tell them our room had no water pressure. It was literally a tiny sprinkler coming out. I almost took the shower head off myself and tried to clean it out but I didn’t have time. It was clean, but looks like it’s being renovated. It could definitely be a little better. It was a cheap stay but you definitely saw the rust on the bathroom doors, the over flow sink would go all over the toilet paper, some of the lights didn’t work. But it wasn’t a terrible stay. Just could have been...

”Rooms are nice, but the walls are thin (especially if you have a connecting room) and the water pressure is terrible. Breakfast is standard, seem to be very dog friendly. Overall a good stay.”

”My flight didn't get in until 8:30 pm. When I called the motel, I was informed they stop doing shuttles at 5 pm. I had to pay for a taxi at $25 to go 4 miles to get from the airport to the motel. Pretty unhappy about the lack of a shuttle when this has never been an issue anywhere else I've stayed near an airport.”
