”Very well run hotel, conveniently located in the heart of Brattleboro. Free parking in a lot next to the hotel was a nice touch. My only gripe would be that my room (104) had no view as the windows were made of some kind of stained glass that you can't see through and couldn't open. Also they could not be closed all the way and allowed a cold draft to come through on a chilly night. I had to stuff towels in the open gaps to keep the chill out. A little strange I thought, but was manageable.”

The selection of food for breakfast is so nice and the pool is indoors which is a bonus.. The fire pit is enjoyable in the evenings. Our hosts were very kind, and put generous effort into providing delicious breakfasts, giving suggestions about local attractions, and allowing us as much or as little cat time as we wanted. ” When we arrived at the hotel, the area was indeed full of homeless people. We decided not to stay, canceled our reservation, and left. We contacted Expedia, and they reached out to the hotel and processed a refund for us.”

It would have been nice to enjoy a hot breakfast on the cold and gloomy morning that we were there, though. We enjoyed meeting our friendly host, Joe, and had a nice conversation with him as he explained the history of the property and some future kitchen renovations he has in the works. Parking was no problem - plenty of space, well-lit, felt absloutely...

”Viking village is one of the most unique experiences we have had with being the most authentic and amazing Norse village in the United States. Attention to comfort and period detail along with an outdoor fire pit with Soay goats was unmatched. We didn’t want to leave. Paul and Christine were fabulous hosts and we will be back to the Viking village!”
