Majatalot – City Island

”We stayed in the first floor suite with the private bathroom and it was great. The building was built in 1910 so it’s like living in a small apartment in Chelsea a block from Penn Station. It is quiet, clean and has the basic amenities you’ll need. I would suggest bringing extra pillows or towels (we bought some at Macy’s) but the bed was comfortable. A real New York experience for a great value. We would definitely stay again and recommend to travellers who are looking for a good deal to be in...

”I read the mixed reviews and chose Macaw Guesthouse anyway - I am glad that I did. It was a reasonable option in expensive New York City and it was as described. Charming hosts who went out of their way to welcome me and ensure that I was comfortable. Short walk to transportation options and dining options nearby. Highly recommend and would stay again. ”

”At first it started off rocky. Thought I could check in at 3pm although I told them I would arrive around 5pm. That’s on me. Long story short 1st room I got was not serviced got the 2nd room real quick. Overall it gives you a college experience with the bathroom and showers outside the room. I enjoyed it. ”

It took the neighbors to contact them for them to call us and tell us that our side lost power in the morning yet they didn’t want to message us and let us know before hand and wasted our time.
