Hyvä ja siisti hotelli Comon vanhankaupungin keskustassa järven rannalla. Erittäin ystävällinen ja avulias henkilökunta.

Sijainti erinomainen, keskellä Comon keskustaa. Näkymät järvelle. Aamiainen maukas ja palvelu ystävällistä. Henkilökunta antoi hyviä vinkkejä miten pääsee eri kohteisiin sekä auttoi juna-aikatauluissa.

Our room was very hot, even though it was only April. Had to keep the window open at night. As separate beds weren't available, we requested extra sheets for the bed. Every day the cleaning lady took them away, so every night we had to ask for them again. We couldn't find a number for the reception, so every night we had to go down there in person. The room was also quite dark. Nothing really said quality, from the lack of drinking glasses to the cheap plastic coat hangers. Also could hear the people in the next room having a conversation. Not the quality I expected for a **** hotel and the price.

Great location and pleasant stay.
Great location, nice room with lake view and helpful staff. Breakfast could be improved, but regardless pleasant overall stay at Hotel Barchetta Excelsior.

The lake view from room was excellent. Also location in the city centre and near the lake is good for seeing the town and happenings. Not glamorous, but functional and fluent services, breakfast ok. I can recommend this hotel.

Vietimme täällä yhden yön lokakuussa, jolloin ulkona aika lämmintä, eikä hotellin ilmastointi toiminut (oli ilmeisesti jo talvisäädöt, eli lämmitys, päällä). Huone oli tuskaisen lämmin ja sisäilman laatu tosi huono, ja näkymät tosi huonot - hinta kuitenkin sensonkiin nähden tosi korkea. Aamiainen alle keskitasoa.

Nice hotel, great location
Standard room without lake view was ok. I would have wanted to have two blankets in the bed (not only the sheet or the woolen blanket). Bed was a bit too hard for me, my husband liked it though. Nice and clean room, enough space, big bathroom. Excellent breakfast!

Great location in the city center and magnificent view with a balcony where you can enjoy the evening sun. Rooms are a bit outdated, but clean. Very helpful and welcoming reception and parking available in another hotel very near. Wifi worked well. We stayed for a night and were very pleased mainly because of the view; without it the hotel would be very average and not worth the price.

Lake Como holiday
We had the lake view room with a balcony and we really liked the location and the views from the room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel has an ideal location. Room was quiet and the breakfast was good (beacon, eggs, fruits...) Reckommended!

Kahden huoneluokan erot suuret
Kahdeksan vuorokauden oleskelumme alkoi Standard-luokan huoneessa, johon päädyimme hotels.com sivustolla olleen kuvan harhauttamana. Sivustolla nimittäin oli kuva vain paremman tasoisesta huoneesta! Miinuksia siitä. Kolmen yön jälkeen muutimme kohtuullista lisäkorvausta vastaan järvinäköala+parveke huoneeseen , jossa kaikki sitten olikin paremmin, myös huoneen perusvarustelu. Standard-huoneen suurin mukavuusmiinus tulee meiltä ala-arvoisesta suihkusta. Vain kylmää vettä riitti ja aina ei sitäkään, sillä paineet hävisit ajoittain kokonaan. Vaikutti siltä, että putkiremontti oli tehty vain rakennuksen järvenpuoleisiin huoneisiin. Neljä tähteä on kokonaisuudelle liikaa. Mutta henkilöstö oli erittäin kohteliasta ja tehokasta kautta linjan.

We enjoyed our stay and mostly the location and view. The rooms are a little dated and small but were fine. The staff treated us very well.

We couldnt eat breakfast because all the chairs were extremely dirty. We coil t find a clean one to sit on. They were discussing. There was no one to help you. Guys were looking when we try to carry our luggage. The best part of this hotel is there was a short guy who helped our luggage for the first time. After him , all other guys were not helpfull or attentive to customers. We told them we could not find a clean chair , he was talking very bothered. He didnt care. He was upset. Ladies in consieridge they all were very helpful. Hotel is old. Filty. The water pressure is low to take a shower.

Pros- Very good location for boats to other towns on lake. Good breakfast included in our deal. Staff were very pleasant. Cons Very expensive for a hotel that needs updating ; we were aware that the hotel was traditional in style but a modernisation of some aspects is needed. Inefficient air con; very hot in room and we were told as the weather had been cool the setting had been changed to heating across all the rooms, so no individual option. We had a room at the back of the hotel overlooking the side of Mc Donalds, so it was quite noisy.....as we had the window open due to the Aircon issue . Poor lighting in the room- side lights by the bed and 1 table lamp only .

The building doesn't have sound proofing. If you're staying in the 1st floor you will hear every single thing even the people preparing breakfast in the morning. The beds are really hard and I wish they have a better quality bed sheets. The location is great, convenient if you like to shop and it is so close to the port to take a ferry to get anywhere in Lake Como.
