![The Ocoee Whitewater Center, near Ducktown, Tennessee, United States, was the canoe slalom venue for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta,[1][2] and is the only in-river course to be used for Olympic slalom competition. A 1,640 foot (500 m) stretch of the Upper Ocoee River was narrowed by two-thirds to create the drops and eddies needed for a slalom course. Today, the course is watered only on summer weekends, 34 days a year, for use by guided rafts and private boaters. ”Our room was nicely appointed and clean. We enjoyed the view from our room out over a lovely creek. It is very quiet here at night. The drive isn’t too far in to Blairsville or Blue Ridge.
The upstairs restaurant at the Lodge, The Flying Trout, is really good. We ate three meals here over our weekend stay. There is also a full bar with live entertainment. The staff at the restaurant and Lodge were very friendly and experienced. ”

”This was the perfect accommodation for our anniversary weekend! The property was spotless and offered stunning views — we even saw a deer right below our deck. The shower and bed were better than any hotel we’ve ever stayed in, and the self check-in process made everything so easy. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!”
