”This hotel has gone through a major renewal over the past 10+ years. I lived in Grantown-on-Spey for over a decade and I have seen this hotel at its absolute worst. It is now an absolute gem of a local hotel. Conveniently located in the center of the Scottish Highlands making day trips to 4 corners of Scotland quite doable. I know, I have done it!! ”Check in was easy you get a code sent for the front and room door, very well equipped with a small kitchen area with a fridge which when travelling with a dog was really useful for the food. ”We stayed three nights at the Hotel Square in Tomintoul. Although this is an older facility which could use a few updates to rugs, curtains, etc., we were very happy there. The hotel is clean, beds are super comfortable and the rooms are large and supplied with everything we needed. Breakfast was very good! Most importantly, the staff was friendly and helpful, providing great service. We had a lovely stay!”
