”Stayed overnight as I was going to theatre. Hotel is in a great location in centre of town, and only a 5 minute walk to the Theatre Royal. Very clean and spacious room with en suite containing both a bath and shower. Well equipped room containing safe and fridge as well as usual tv etc.
Good quality (Ringtons) tea selection on refreshment tray which included breakfast tea as well as earl grey, peppermint, lemon, etc alongside Ringtons biscuits, hot chocolate and coffee.
Great nights sleep on...

”Just an overnight stay before dropping iff our son at Newcastle Uni digs. Ample free parking. A very friendly and helpful receptionist. From the decor it looked like the hotel was a premier inn in a former life. Just needs a bit of tlc and updating, but was more than adequate for us, very comfortable beds resulting in a very giod sleep.”
”The parking outside the room was really handy very clean rooms staff were really nice food was great would recommend the hotel one point it was hot in room could not alter any heating”
”Really lovley area, check-in was easy and Jay was nice enought to let us drop our bags early so we could explore newastle.
Of note, due to train strikes 2 of our trains were canceled or skipped the Cramlington stops so keep an eye on that if you make any appointments that rely on public transport.”
”Worst hotel ever in Europe. And yes, in this case I include Russia in Europe. Room stank like years of smoking, bathroom like piss. Piss stains on the toilet seat, whole rainbow of different coloured stains on all of the towels and bedding. Noisy and a spot light pointing at the window. Arrogant and unhelpful older woman at the reception (this one was definetly no lady). Avoid if you're travelling alone, can't say anything about the bigger rooms, but assume the worst.”
”The George hotel is historically stunning!! The entire hotel holds so much beautiful character, from the sitting rooms to the restaurant. The restaurant is also gorgeous, overlooking the river and their lovely gardens, not to mention that the food was very much fine dining for a low price.”
”There were no cocktails to be had At All ! The pillows need changing as they are like bricks and the Showers need a shower mat as it becomes very, very slippery.
