Lovely clean room with very comfortable bed and excellent shower. Superb views across to the hills behind the village. Very nice toiletries provided and excellent tea/coffee/hot chocolate in room facilities with biscuits! I really enjoyed the comfortable residents lounge which was unexpected but a nice place to relax and read a book (motor racing or vehicle enthusiasts will enjoy the book selection). Ingredients and beautifully presented. Gluten free and vegetarian options were available. We would happily stay again. Only slight downside is the church bells which chime all through the night (why?). The proprietors very thoughtfully provided ear plugs but if the windows are open these are insufficient against the bells which provide an alarm clock on the hour, every hour throughout the night. Keeping the windows closed would probably alleviate this but if you like fresh air at night and are a light sleeper it might be difficult to get a good nights sleep which is a shame as the beds are so comfortable. We would definitely stay again though as The Belfry is very good value and extremely well appointed. There is a pub literally across the road which serves food on some evenings (think it was Wednesday to Saturday during our visit). We ate there and it was very convenient to be able to walk there, friendly and reasonably priced pub grub options.
