Small and cosy room in the middle of renovations.

The property seemed to be undergoing some renovations, which didn't feel like they were actively being worked at. Almost felt like time was standing still. Hallways smelled like filler materials, but the room itself was small and cosy. Unfortunately there was no hot water coming from the shower nor from the tap in the bathroom. TV did turn on, but the picture was glitching due to some cable/antenna interference or damage. Otherwise nothing more to complain about. Not too bad for the cheap price they are offering the rooms for. It was pretty much what we were looking for; shelter from the stormy weather instead of camping in the wind and the rain.

They didn't have staff so we were given alternative accomodation. The Waverley Inn (Dingwall). Please, please do not stay here. Bathroom ceiling black with mould not some, but all of it. Previous guest beard trimings in sink, shower and floor. What I hope was crusty toothpaste stuck to sink. Rusty fittings and to top it all off....bed bugs. I have recorded proof and taken numerous photos which will be sent to the owners and probably environmental health. Paid extra for breakfast. Didn't get the offer so cereal it was. Absolutely shocking. I'm raging. My daughter was distraught regarding the bugs. How this place is allowed to operate is beyond me. Stay away.

Sorry, but no.

I’m sorry, but the room was just unlivable. Sad condition in a classic hotel that has gone to seed. We took one look, and smell, and decided to find other accommodation. We left the key at reception, called the host and apologized, but said we just couldn’t stay. Also, very difficult to even locate the property, but the host was very helpful on the phone navigating us there. This property is more like a youth hostel than what we were expecting.

The rooms have been renovated. They were clean, tidy and simple. Both rooms were unable to get hot water for showers. The sink had hot water. This we could not figure out. Be sure to bring your personal soap and shampoo. The two staff were friendly and helpful. This loacaton worked fine for our quick stay in Dinwall.

Disappointing

No heating in room, no TV signal so pointless TV in room, sign in room to say hotel in undergoing refurbishment and that management are aware of all issues. Seems to be coverall for general disappointing room. Bedside lamp in poor condition, shower takes 10mins for hot water to come through, no hooks for hanging towels/clothes up, lack of toilet paper.

First off-the staff is very lovely and friendly. We stayed 2 nights -the first night in room 6 we had an issue with the shower, it was scalding hot-when we advised staff in the morning, we were moved to room 30-our second room was fully renovated and everything worked just fine. Wifi was spotty, and we were a bit concerned with security as the front door was unlocked and accessible to the street. The hotel is under major renovation. It is well located and again, the staff couldn’t have been lovelier

I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the experience my wife, our guest from Dubai, and I had during our recent stay at your hotel. We had booked two rooms for two nights, and after driving over 9 hours from Birmingham to Inverness Dingwall, we arrived at your property around 9:30 PM with the expectation of a comfortable and welcoming environment. Unfortunately, what we encountered was far from acceptable: • One of the room’s curtains was broken and hanging loose, offering no privacy. • The toilet had no bin, and there was no cupboard in the room. • The carpet was dirty and clearly had not been cleaned properly. • There was a strong, unpleasant smell throughout the room, making it extremely uncomfortable. • Although breakfast was included in our booking, we were shockingly told we had to go to another place to get it. When we asked for clarification, the only response we got was “sorry”. • There was no lift, and no staff available to assist with our luggage, even though our rooms were on the first and second floors. Due to these unacceptable conditions, we did not use the second room at all. All three of us were forced to stay in one room simply because we had no other option that late at night. This experience completely ruined what was meant to be a joyful trip. The level of discomfort, inconvenience, and emotional distress caused by these issues

Just don’t go

Terrible place, other smoking pot in the halls stinks. Noise by others. Not as photos. Don’t waste your money. Stayed 1 night only. More than enough can’t say that this is a contractor hotel in that it is worse than that. Looks like they may be trying to refurbish, but will need to go a long way. Check in at another hotel.

Avoid it

For one the hotel is not even at the address that’s listed too. You have to go to another hotel to check in and then walk up the street to a building that is you know probably under construction on the bottom floors. The room I got said it had a TV well yes there was a TV in there, but it was not plugged into anything. It did not work when I plugged it into the power it had no signal the shower had no hot water. You cannot open the window at all. It was painted shut and I was sweating in the room because there’s no AC, but if there’s no AC, you gotta be able to at least crack the window, which I could not. There was a spider on the windowsill indicating no one had been in this room for months. There wasn’t even a lightbulb in the lamp next to the bed. All of this was hugely different from what the description on the page was it was anything but royal I tried to be nice and ask for a partial refund instead of a full refund but now that they’ve denied me, I will just call my bank and I will leave the review of how it truly went. No WiFi either. Advertised completely wrong

Place is under renorvation to be avoided, Uncomfortable bed, room nothing like the image, controlled from another building with unavailable staff, Breakfast was nothing to mention.

Property was heavily into refurbishment. Had to go to a differant hotel to check in. Room was small but clean but no reception on TV, catch up TV would freeze with error signal. Could not contact reception at other hotel on phone. Could not connect to wifi. Breakfast was at other hotel. Unfortunately not worth the cost.

No info on key pick up from different hotel. Pillowcase dirty. Light in bathroom black! Shower very poor as water was a trickle. Bathroom smells of dampness. No hand towels. Fire alarm went off at 5.20am no staff on site. I went to other hotel to inform them. Obvious H&S issue. Alarm was SD in room 38.

Ideal accommodation for putting your head down

Perfectly adequate for my purposes. Room was pretty clean - particularly the bed linen and the bathroom were immaculate. Service from the staff was excellent - very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. If you’re looking for budget accommodation this is ideal.

Room in poor condition. Complete lack of building security. Door to room had clearly been kicked in by previous occupant. Room unfinished. Rubbish skylight blind. Electric shower with poor water pressure and ineffective controls. No breakfast to speak of, despite promise of ‘continental’. Cheap as chips but price reflects quality of stay. Would avoid if I were you!
