It is very rewarding to get positive feedback. There is also a new bus service, S2, just across the street from the cottage which traverses south Dublin to locations such as Ranelagh and Rathmines. Cafes and restaurants there are better and cheaper than the city centre options. Thank you.

Thank you for your helpful comments. There are now new double glazed windows, back and front which alleviate the noise from the cranes. They do not operate in the early hours. The working fireplace with an ample supply of smokeless coal, kindling and kiln-dried logs is unique for a city location. I am happy that you enjoyed it.

There was a small problem as the cleaner was late by one hour. The guests were compensated as they would not wait.

I am surprised that the guests were less than happy about the location. It is clear from the details that the Coastguard Station is on the south side of the river and a short walk to the Financial Services Centre on the north side using the East Link bridge. The south side is comparitively quiet and the cottage is in a secluded cul-de-sac. Most importantly, it is safer. Deke's Diner is a two minute walk away. Tesco Express supermarket, Ringsend village is also a five minute walk through Ringsend Park. The location is not an industrial one, it is in Dublin port and the primary activity is shipping. A Dublin Bus pass affords cheap travel to and within the city. Billy Mundow.

Firstly, I must contradict the information that the incorrect check-in time was given. An email was sent to Philipp on March 30th, which clearly states that the check-in time is 16:00. I am sorry to hear that he found the nighttime so noisy. I have never had a complaint about the noise at night (or indeed during the day). When I am in residence I have never found it to be a problem and consider it to be an unusually quiet area for a city centre property, given that there is no traffic on the road in front of the house, as it is a cul de sac. The heating is set to come on for a few hours a day, but, of course, guests are free to turn on the heating as they wish. I find the comments a bit confusing. If the level of heat was too much, all they had to do was turn off or turn down the radiators, and if they found it was too cold, they just needed to turn on the heat! Again, I have never received any complaints about the heating before. As for the comments about the furniture in the house being 'bulky waste', I consider this to be a very insulting comment. The furniture in the cottage is, in the main, original Victorian furniture and very much in keeping with the listed building, which dates back to 1860. Most guests who have stayed at the property have expressed appreciation and admiration for the quality of the furniture and the artwork in the cottage. There is a hair dryer in one of the bedside lockers in the bedroom. Philipp did not mention during the many phone calls that were required during his stay, that he could not find the hair dryer. Philipp said during one of these calls that the shower was not working. I asked him to make sure that the main switch was turned on (by pulling a cord and making sure the red light was on) which he told me he had done. I immediately called a plumber and asked that the keys be left in the key box for him. The plumber arrived to find nobody at the house and no keys in the box. I contacted Philipp and he said he could not return to let the plumber in. Later, when I was trying to arrange for the plumber to return to the house, Philipp contacted me to say that the shower was working after all. It cost me €150 for the plumber to call to the house. The shower is very straightforward to use, as long as you make sure that the main switch is on, and once again, I have not had any complaints about the shower being difficult to use before.

My sentiments exactly mirror those of my guests. There was a serious Dublin city water shortage during their stay and they handled everything admirably.
