”After driving through thick fog and not seeing much of Harris, the sun came out on our arrival at The Cross Inn. They run a delightful village pub behind the inn where we had one of the best meals of our entire three-week trip. ”This was a comfortable, roomy cottage. We used it as a home base for exploring the Isles of Harris and Lewis. The owners were friendly and very responsive. This is still one of the spots we rave about after our trip. There is a great little coffee/tea/shop just at the end of the drive with a friendly proprietor and even friendlier doggo. ”

”Traditional island cottage with everything you need for a home to home stay. Very clean and well presented, comfy beds too, always a bonus. Situated at the north end of Lewis it’s quite remote but amazingly peaceful. Limited places to eat out and you need to book well ahead but the local restaurant does takeaway in the evenings and it’s two minutes away in a beautiful setting above the harbour and beach.
