Ruaha National Park is one of the top safari spots in the world. It's in Central/Southern Tanzania, near Iringa, and isn't overrun with tourists. I self drove and was able to hire a guide for only $23 for two days. Excellent experience. There are a few cottages in the park where you can stay overnight for $50. Ruaha is home to 10% of the worlds lion population!
