”Have stayed in 4 hotels and B&B’s in Eastbourne and this is by far and away the best one I’ve stayed in. Victorian features, stain glass windows combined with a modern style. Breakfast choices were eggcelent with proper sausages and bacon, the “house” scrambled eggs was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was a bonus as that area of Eastbourne can be tricky to find spaces to park at night. Would definitely stay at The New England again.”

”Photos look good on Expedia, hotel looks very different. We really had a bad experience. Booked one of the most expensive sea view rooms. Quite expensive. No cleaning service, no sitcom (it was hooottt), no elevator, no service. Staff quite rude. We asked why there was no room no room cleaning. The lady said „our fault“ as we did not put out a sign. It’s the opposite of all other hotels in the world. You need to indicate that you want service. „Do not disturb the other way around“. Nobody told...

”First room was unusable due to extreme noise all night, and I only got moved the next day after reporting it. The first night was therefore effectively lost and no refund was given. Also concerning: the hotel took full credit card details, including the security code (CVV), and wrote them down on a piece of paper, which is unsafe practice. Overall, poor handling of a serious issue and questionable payment security procedures. Expedia offered only a small goodwill credit, which did not reflect...

”Well, this is England and many things differs from Nordic style so we were very satisfied and understand and accept differencies. Corridors and public areas are very stylish but also little bit old fashioned..full carpets etc. and f.ex. why to have hot and cold water valves separated?.. Nice hotel anyway, nice location!”

”Hotelli sijaitsee rantakadun varrella, vain kadun yli, ja pääsee uimaan. Katu kylläkin on vilkasliikenteinen, mutta se ei kuulunut sisälle asti. Myös paikallinen nähtävyys, Eastbournen Pier laituri on lähellä. Näkymä hotellihuoneesta merelle oli myös huimaava. Hotellirakennus itsessään on vanha, sitä on kunnostettu, mutta se ei haitannut. Rakennuksessa on myös hissit. Ystävällinen henkilökunta, sekä päivällisen että aamiaisen nauttimismahdollisuus.”

”Incredible location across from the beach. Room was spacious and had a view of the beach and the pier. These older buildings don’t have AC but a fan was provided as was a small portable fridge. We didn’t try the bar or restaurant so we can’t rate those. We forgot some important items in our room on checkout and the staff were amazing. They contacted us right away when they found the items and offered to have a staff member deliver them to us. Really helpful.”

”Really enjoyed our stay. The Victorian building has plenty of character, the room was very clean, and everything felt well looked after. Breakfast was excellent, and the cocktails were fantastic! A comfortable, relaxing place to stay, and we’d happily come back. :)”

”Viehättävä hotelli meren rannalla. Tuo entisajat mieleen. Henkilökunta on ystävällinen ja englantilainen aamiainen riittävä. Kahvia en kehuisi, mutta lähellä on kahviloita, joista saa oikeaa kahvia. Jitellin yhteydessä on Sport-baari, josta saa ihan kelvollisia juomia.”

”Overall the hotel's quality-price ratio was great. Only problem we had was with the window in the room, because wind came through it. And the breakfast had some shortages. But the staff was friendly and the location was great.”

”The staff were amazing from the front desk Darcy and mum to the night porter, who could not do enough for us brilliant. Would recommend to all ages and jealous that we’re not still there. Carnival was great; only thing is if you’re down for this event next year, find parking first early, as it’s at a premiere. Massive shout out again to all. 👍😘”
