The nightmare began with the awful musty smell as we walked in the door Saturday 9/6/25. Check out was supposed to be Saturday 9/13/25. The sofa and chairs need upholstery cleaning. They smell and had long blonde hairs all on them. There was mold in the bathroom ceiling, see pic. More blonde hairs on the kitchen floor. We were required to bring our own sheets and towels. Upon removing the comforter the mattress pad, had stains, old stains see pic. We decided to make the most of it after all, we had our own sheets. Monday night, as we returned late from dinner, we were greeted by other house residents, roaches, lots of them (see pics). All around the kitchen counter, which was clean, and, all in the dish basket where we rinsed and placed our coffee mugs. Ewww!!! So disgusting. It was too late to pack up and go home so we decided to cut our vacation short and go home Tuesday morning. Upon removing the bed sheets, the mattress pad peeled off exposing the disgusting mattress with more stains (see pics) also a HUGE roach came out from under the bed. The only positive was the beach access and the golf cart. It is difficult to understand how no previous guests have made comments about these obvious issues. The place needs a professional to remove the mold and pest control. Awful experience. Vacation was ruined. Seriously considering contacting DHEC, house should be condemned. If only there was a choice to give this a “0” rating.
