”Good hotel and comfortable bed. Had cancel the second night as the hotel was closed. Access for an 81 year old was very difficult. Lots of stairs to manage. The very cold weather made it even more difficult. The manager was very good and helpful. We hope to get a refund for the second night. The location was excellent and the pub was very quirky and quite special. ”

”Room was clean but very tired as was the building in general . Breakfast was plenty but cooked breakfast was not fresh as in sausages were hard to cut and bacon crispy and dry . Have stayed there many times in the past, it’s a lovely building in style but unfortunately hasn’t been lovingly cared for by Greene King brewery. Shower was hot and quite powerful but no shower/bath mat available was a case of do I break anything on my body trying to climb out of bath as so slippery ”

”We stayed 1 night at this lovely, cozy and very spatious hotel. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We used the indoor pool, jacuzzi and steam room. Not many people there, so we had lots of space. The bathrooms were well equipped (hair dryer and amenities which I loved). When leaving the pool, I passed by the bar which looked lively and fun. ”This property is stunning. It has great access to the small villages nearby and its own property is situated on lots of beautiful acreage. The rooms are lovely, and the breakfast was outstanding. The staff contributed substantially to making this a wonderful day.”

”Beautiful building but lack of attention to detail. Upon arrival in spa, went to make a cup of hot tea and there was no sugar or stir sticks or spoons. Wanted to enjoy the hot tub before massage and it was like a barely warm bath plus the jets were spraying up at your face so you couldn’t sit without getting water in the face. ”The manager and staff at this hotel go above and beyond. My wife is disabled and travelling can be a challenge. The folks here just go out of the way to make things as easy as they can. The accessible room is large and the bathroom with its roll in shower and shower stool is well designed and functional. Top marks to all the staff.”

”Decent hotel in a good location up the hill from the town which is fine for those who are mobile. Good car park at the front of the hotel. If you struggle to get around the stairs to the rooms may be a struggle. Good breakfast and good rooms.”
