I will start by saying the staff was very friendly and helpful and even accommodated an early check-in, which I appreciated. However, everything went downhill from there. I'm honestly not sure how this hotel has so many good reviews. We must have gotten the worst room they offer because our experience was very disappointing and uncomfortable. For starters, the room floor was dirty and full of sand, so we had to wear shoes while walking around. The bed sheets felt damp, like they hadn’t been fully dried or possibly due to the humidity, and they were really scratchy. While lying down, we felt itchy as if something was crawling on us. We checked the sheets and found sand in the bed and brushed it away, but it was so uncomfortable we couldn’t relax. Also, the bathroom was absolutely disgusting, with caked-up residue around the base of the toilet where the bolt should have been. There was also a nauseating smell throughout the room that never went away. To make matters worse, the restaurant connected to the hotel played music so loud we couldn’t rest. We also heard a soft knocking sound every few minutes, which was unsettling. Considering the door did not have a deadbolt, the knocking made us feel unsafe. After a couple of hours, we called the front desk to switch rooms, mostly due to the noise, but were told they were fully booked so we'd have to wait until the next day. There was no way we would make it through the night, so we left and booked another hotel. Never again!
