”Really enjoyed this property and location. Easy walk to restaurants and shopping. Bicycle rental on property was convenient too. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The breakfast at 1852 Grill Room was amazing and what a view! I will definitely look to stay here again! The ferry drop of our luggage directly to the hotel was an extra perk. ”

”Nothing can be blamed on front line staff when it comes to this disgrace of a hotel. This is a matter attributed to owner/management. The rooms were in a horrible state with stains on the floors, carpets, etc. The bathrooms, plaster, and fixtures were rusted and falling apart. Breakfast was disgusting and consisted of a picture of Fruit Loops taped to a plastic dispenser, an unplugged waffle maker, along with a coffee and juice dispenser, both of which weren’t functioning. ”Worst stay ever. The room had a strong unpleasant odor, and the heater was not working properly. Despite the cold weather, the room never got warm enough, making the stay very uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the shower curtain and curtain rod were already broken when we arrived, which showed a lack of maintenance and attention to basic room upkeep. Overall, the hotel did not meet even basic expectations for comfort and cleanliness. I would not stay here again.”

”Not what pictures portray. Living in Michigan my entire life I think all of mackinaw city has depleted in cleanliness and price gauging. We booked a “superior room” which means nothing like the photos. We were told it’s just a standard queen with a water view balcony. The room was so dirty.. mold in the shower on the ceilings, stains on the sheets, filthy lampshades. The lady at the front desk was as nice as she could be and the manager moved us over one room.. slight cleanliness improvement as...

”Great location for walking right across the street to Armstrong ferry. They are dog friendly. We had a small dog and paid a $25 dog fee. Our room needed some love but was just fine for sleeping. We may have been given a dog friendly room so it may have been not as well kept as others. The lamp cord looked chewed on and some of the headboard lighting didn’t work. Would stay again for a stopover but nothing more.”

We stayed at the budget inn and they make it very clear through the booking and on the lobby door of the budget inn that you checkin/out at the Thunderbird Inn next door. ”The properties location is ideal for walking to the downtown area where a number of restaurants / shopping are located. Walking distance to Sheplers Ferry vs taking the shuttle.
