”We stayed for 1 night at this gem of a place! We arrived quite late but managed to get into the restaurant just before they finished serving. The food was outstanding! Not an extensive menu. A few pub classics such as fish and chips. I had an open fish pie which was delicious. We had breakfast the next morning which was equally as good. ”We had such a lovely stay at The Ickworth Hotel. The place itself is beautiful — the grounds are stunning, and the whole property has such a peaceful, relaxing feel. Everything was really well kept, and it honestly felt like a little escape from everyday life. The staff were all friendly and helpful, but I especially want to mention Millie at reception. ”Although I did not use the restaurant or bar, I did see the inside and it looked very homely and comfortable. The staff I met were very helpful and respectful. My room was very nice and the bed extremely comfortable. I would most definately recommend this hotel and I will be using it again when I am next in the area.”

”Room was spacious and nicely decorated, had a great bath and toiletries. The pub was lovely and we found the evening meal delicious. The breakfast was very good also. Location was great 👍 not too far out of Newmarket itself . Easy parking, would definitely recommend. ”

”Great quirky pub, restaurant and hotel. Ideal for us on our way to Norwich. Have stayed before, so was looking forward to going back. Delicious food, lovely, comfy beds in fun 'cow' themed rooms. The place is spotlessly clean and the staff are wonderful. Will definitely stay there again, on our next trip to that part of the world.”

Reception changed our rooms to ground floor on request at arrival, as allocated rooms were not easily accessed, lots of stairs up and down and corridors. Breakfast ok on Saturday but not very hot, tea and coffee machine dispensing very weak and tasteless coffee and tea. Parking good, but quite along waln to reception. ”
